I'm Juan, a 25 year old Chemistry Master's student at Utrecht University. I'm focusing on sustainable methods of reusing and cleaning water, which I want to bring back to my home country of Mexico. During the week, I work 9-5 on my thesis at Science Park. On the weekends, I work part-time to support my studies. In my free time I climb, read and listen to a lot of music. Mostly I enjoy creating my own art for my experimental electronic music project, but more recently I'm also learning to play guitar. I'm also learning French for my future internship, so if you speak it and would like to learn Spanish hit me up! Despite my musical endeavors, I'm not a loud roommate at all, more so one that enjoys cooking together and hanging out over a drink. I'm always looking for people to share ideas and create with. Hello! My name is Marta, I am 22 years old and I come from Barcelona, Spain. This August I will be move to Zwolle to start a Master’s degree. I recently completed my Bachelor’s degree in Arts and Design, and moving to the Netherlands is a very exciting step for me, both personally and professionally. I am looking forward to discovering a new culture, meeting new people and making Zwolle my home during the next two years. I would describe myself as a friendly, respectful and easy-going person. I enjoy spending time with others, having conversations, cooking together from time to time and creating a comfortable atmosphere at home. At the same time, I also value personal space and understand the importance of respecting everyone’s privacy and routines. As a housemate, I am tidy, responsible and considerate. I like keeping shared spaces clean and organised, and I have no problem following house rules or participating in cleaning schedules. Hi! I’m Andrea, and I’m really excited about spending some time in Amsterdam and experiencing the city from within. I’ve already had the chance to live abroad, including several years in Ireland, so I’m used to moving to a new country, adapting to new environments and enjoying the experience of living somewhere different. I now work remotely in marketing, which gives me the flexibility to work from Amsterdam while continuing with my current job. I’ve visited Amsterdam several times and already have a lovely circle of friends there, so the city feels quite familiar to me. In fact, the first time I visited, I remember thinking: “One day, I’ll live here.” After having the experience of living abroad and feeling ready for a new adventure, I think that time might finally be now! I’m an easy-going, respectful and tidy person. I really enjoy having a clean and peaceful place to come back to, and I always make sure to take good care of wherever I stay. There’s a Spanish saying I really like: “A tidy home, a peaceful mind” and it’s definitely something I try to live by. I’m also happy to provide references from previous landlords or rental agencies, as well as proof of savings and employment if needed. I understand that trusting someone with your property is important, so I’m more than happy to provide any information that gives you peace of mind. Outside of work, I love travelling, discovering new places and finding cosy cafés to try different coffees.
