A bit about how I live: I work hybrid (9 to 5, half office half home), so I’m around during the day sometimes. I’m a creature of routine: work, gym, cook, read, sleep, repeat. I love running, I love a good café, I love keeping the house stocked with toilet paper and cleaning supplies (yes, really, it’s a personality trait at this point 😄). In the weekends I’m often with my partner who lives in Delft, so the flat gets some breathing room. When he comes over, we’re the definition of low-key, long walks, cooking together, talking too much about feelings. I’m emotionally mature, tidy without being obsessive, and I communicate openly, especially about house stuff. I’ve lived with housemates for years and I know what makes it work: honesty, respect, and actually caring about the shared space. Goedendag, Ik ben deeltijd PhD-student aan de Erasmus Universiteit Rotterdam, bij de faculteit filosofie. Ik heb een dubbele nationaliteit, Duits en Zuid-Afrikaans, en woon al ongeveer twee jaar in Gouda (Zuid-Holland). Daarvoor heb ik in Brussel (ongeveer 7 jaar) en in Berlijn (ongeveer 1,5 jaar) gestudeerd en gewerkt. Gouda bevalt me goed, het was perfect om mijn proefschrift te schrijven, maar de verhuurder verkoopt het huis en ik moet dus vóór augustus van dit jaar verhuizen. I like to have meaningful conversations, and enjoy the occasional social event. Overall, however, I prefer a quieter peaceful environment. Currently I’m working on ‘The End of History’ hypothesis, and the ‘Dialectic of Enlightenment’. Would be happy to send a link to a book I published. Please feel free to ask any questions.
