I’ve been living in shared apartments for about 7 years now, so I’m very used to keeping shared spaces clean and cozy 🧼 I’d describe myself as a friendly and sociable person: I love having a chat or sharing a meal with flatmates, but I also enjoy quiet evenings at home reading or watching Netflix. I’m usually really quiet because I hate loud noises and I need peace to concentrate ahaha Luckily, I’ve already built a small circle of friends here in the Netherlands and I’m having a lot of fun here!! I usually hang out with my friends to do craft nights, dinners, concerts or simply to have a beer after dinner 🍻 I love cooking (especially pasta, lasagna, and tiramisù, but my grandma’s recipe is unbeatable tbh 🍝) and I’d be happy to share some Italian food when we’ll eat together! A bit of background: I’m originally from a town near Rome but I moved to Milan at 18yo. I studied and worked there before coming to the Netherlands, which I’m really loving so far. Hello, I'm Emilio. I’m 22 years old and will be 23 in May 2026. I was born and raised in Napa, California but have lived in Denver, Colorado for the past 2 years. I have three citizenships, American, Italian and Canadian. I speak English and some Italian, but no Dutch (yet!). I plan on settling into my new home in Amsterdam in June 2026, and will work part-time after getting settled in. I’m willing to rent sooner for the right home to avoid housing chaos. I do have savings and allocate my financial resources responsibly. I enjoy playing video games such as Cities: Skylines, and going to many EDM shows. I’m social but not a big partier. I love travelling and have visited my family in Italy since I was 6 months old. I’m very passionate about non-car centric city planning, which is why I’m going to Amsterdam to study it since I believe they have the best cities in the world. I hope to take that knowledge of the Netherlands and bring it back to the USA to help improve our car-centric cities here. I’m pursuing a Bachelor’s at University of Amsterdam to study Human Geography and Planning, eventually gaining a Masters in a related field. In terms of housing, my preference would be in Amsterdam within a reasonable commute to the Roeterseiland campus, but understand I may need to look further out. I would prefer to live in a private studio, but I’m also open to shared housing. In Denver, I’ve lived with three various other roommates the whole time, and all of us have gotten along very well. I’m very clean and quite quiet, though I do like socializing with my roommates when we’re able to. Having lived with roommates the past 2 years, I’m more than happy to share a space with others and I keep common areas very tidy. I’m excited to meet people from around the world and experience my next chapter.

I am Marjane. I live in Lyon, France and I am preparing for a French/British Baccalaureate with biology and social and economic sciences as my main subjects. I want to study psychology because I’m interested in human behaviors. Later on, I want to mix psychology with cognitive sciences or move to Neuro-psychology. Psychology and biology are my main interests! Outside work I like climbing, volleyball and cycling. Climbing is very much part of our family culture, we often go on climbing holidays with my parents and my brother in the cliffs near Lyon or in the Alps. I cycle to college every day. I also play trumpet in a brass Orchestra. It’s quite fun and a good way to meet nice people. We moved to Lyon when I was 11. Before that we were living in Southampton, UK. It was very cosmopolitan, I grew up with kids from Italy, Latin America, India, Poland etc... This is why I am very excited to study in Leiden to experience this cultural diversity that I enjoyed so much as a kid. Being the eldest sibling in a family with two children, taking care of others has always been a pleasure. That is also why I take care of young children monthly with a scout non-profit organisation.
