I am an urban designer specialising in the conservation of cultural heritage. I have a background in urban design and architecture, with degrees from Bilkent University (undergraduate), the Dessau Institute of Architecture (DIA) in Germany (masters), and a PhD from METU. My research focuses on historic public spaces and multi-layered towns, and I have been fortunate to work on various cultural heritage projects in Ankara. Currently, I teach at Başkent University, where I guide undergraduate and graduate students in urban design and conservation. I joined TU Delft as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment and in June, 2025. I will be living alone during my studies in TU Delft, and I am hoping to find a home nearby. Outside of my academic work, I enjoy exploring historic cities and, after a long break due to a car accident, I’ve recently returned to playing tennis—a passion that brings me a lot of joy.
