I'm Yaren, I moved to the Netherlands last year and have been working at the MPI for almost a year now, so I think it is safe to say that I have grown accustomed to the culture and the way of living here. I consider myself to be a clean, social and warm person (amidst all the rain!) :) I am a vegetarian who loves to cook (I make really mean dumplings!), bake and sing and a typical week for me is mostly working/studying but I also like going out for long walks and grabbing a couple drinks with friends. Hello, my name is Jay and I'm a 27 years old Jazz musician from Vitoria-Gasteiz in the north of Spain. This last few years I've been studying Jazz Guitar in the Conservatoire of Pamplona, Spain from which I've just graduated and also working as a guitar teacher in different places. My idea for the future is to find an affordable room/home in Amsterdam and apply for the Conservatorium van Amsterdam for the next term as I visited a couple of months back and I fell in love with the place and the music scene which I must say it's truly captivating. Personally, I'm a peaceful person, I spend most of time studying music or practicing in my room (I use headphones to practice, I don't want to bother anyone with my music), I'm not really a party person, I enjoy my peace and quiet and I love to read or go watch art/paintings in a museum...I also like to keep the house tidy, I've shared a house before with flat-mates and we used to have like a cleaning schedule that worked well just so everyone enjoy their time and have space to do their own thing in peace. I already gained some experience in the IT field, as I worked part-time as a software developer while going to high school and I am planning to continue working along with my studies. Besides programming, I am interested in finances and stocks and I watch every F1 race. I love listening to different kinds of music (rock, techno, or Hungarian hip-hop to mention a few) and I spend some time watching movies or series. I use headphones mostly, but I am open to socialize/party with my future housemates of course.
