I am Carmen, 29, originally from Austria and currently, I work as Marketing Manager at a Sales company in Houthaven (and loving it!) Initially, I moved here to study, but, eventually, I fell in love with the Netherlands and decided to stay 🤍 Where do I live now and why am I moving? Currently, I live in an apartment in Nieuw-West with one roommate, however, my rental contract was only one year, so now is the time for me to look for a new place I can call home. When am I moving? I am looking for a room from June onward but I am flexible and can also move in sooner! Am I tidy? I am Austrian, I think being organized and tidy is in our DNA 😄 But seriously, I think when sharing your living space it's important to clean up after yourself and just be considerate of one another (and have open communication!) Who else am I bringing? No one! It's just me and my 3 plants (but they are barely hanging on for dear life… so we'll see if they make it) BUT I am always buying fresh flowers (see picture as a reference 🌸) What do I do when I am not working? Generally, I am a quite quiet and relaxed person. Since my job is very demanding, I am usually tired when I get home. However, I am always up for a chat :) Weekends I either spend with friends at a nice brunch spot, go to a museum, the gym, or a nice walk, or just relax with a nice book. Am I a party girl? On a good day, I barely make it to 11.00 pm before I hit the bed 😴 but then again, if you wanna have a glass of wine in the kitchen and talk about life...say less 🍷 Some other things you should know? I don't have any pets, I don't smoke and I would like to rent a room for at least 1 year, but preferably longer if that's possible. I aspire to become a journalist and felt like the programme that Utrecht University offers fit my needs almost perfectly. This is my first time living abroad but Utrecht could not be more welcoming and charming as a city. What is more, I work in a grocery delivery company here in Utrecht called Picnic. More about me. I am searching for a room or studio to move out to since my living conditions now are pretty unfortunate. I share housing facilities with about 15 other people, mostly older men. The place is dirty, old, and poorly managed. That is why I would love to move out to a more looked after place, it would greatly affect my mental health. I am a friendly, responsible, and outgoing person. I love to sing, watch movies, go out, and have fun, but I also enjoy my time sometimes.
