I'm a long-time self-employed multidisciplinary creative professional (photographer/creative director/media background) pursuing fluency in Dutch, recently relocated the Netherlands (Feb. 1st, 2026) via a DAFT Visa. I have a valid residence permit, a network of Dutch friends and a sense of community, having spent extended stays in the NL twice in two years. This time, my move is permanent. I have never felt more at home than I do with my feet in the ground in the Netherlands. I am in LOVE with Het Gooi region, and am currently staying in Huizen. I know every trail, every neighborhood, farm and public transport access from Huizen and Blaricum to Laren and Hilversum. I'm also familiar with Bussum and LOVE Baarn. I have excellent references, rental history, and would be delighted to be the dream tenant you hope for, far beyond just the standard financial responsibility. I care for my space, have a green thumb, and love people, adore animals, art, golf, opera, and even the raindrops most complain about - there's serenity in gray days, too! Goedendag, Ik ben deeltijd PhD-student aan de Erasmus Universiteit Rotterdam, bij de faculteit filosofie. Ik heb een dubbele nationaliteit, Duits en Zuid-Afrikaans, en woon al ongeveer twee jaar in Gouda (Zuid-Holland). Daarvoor heb ik in Brussel (ongeveer 7 jaar) en in Berlijn (ongeveer 1,5 jaar) gestudeerd en gewerkt. Gouda bevalt me goed, het was perfect om mijn proefschrift te schrijven, maar de verhuurder verkoopt het huis en ik moet dus vóór augustus van dit jaar verhuizen. I like to have meaningful conversations, and enjoy the occasional social event. Overall, however, I prefer a quieter peaceful environment. Ik ben Yeabtsega en ik zit momenteel in mijn laatste bachelorjaar in het conservatorium van Brussel. Ik studeer klassieke uitvoerende muziek, op tuba. Mijn voorstudies: Ik ben begonnen op trompet toen ik in het middelbaar zat en moest dan omschakelen naar tuba, door een beugel. Die omschakeling was pittig, maar daar door heb ik wel doorzettingsvermogen gecreëerd. […] In mijn vrije tijd zit ik in mijn vijfde en ook wel laatste jaar op de scouts, waar ik leiding geef aan verschillende leeftijden. Ik help graag mensen. Ik ben heel benieuwd en gemotiveerd om te leren hoe ik mensen kan helpen met muzikale interactie. Door mijn muzikale achtergrond helpt het me op een goede basis te vormen in muziek. Ik sta graag op het podium, waar ik mijn muziek door emoties kan brengen. Maar het liefst zou ik dit gerichter en persoonlijker willen doen. De opleiding muziektherapie in Enschede spreekt mij aan vanwege het een conservatorium is. Het muzikale gedeelte is even belangrijk als de therapie. Ik ben heel benieuwd om te zien wat mijn persoonlijke ontwikkeling zal eruit zien. Ik hoorde de term “zelfreflectie” een aantal keren vallen op de opendeurdag. Dat lijkt me al heel interessant en uitdagend.
