I'm Thomas, a Canadian living in Amsterdam for just over five years now, first as a physics student at the UvA and now as a research scientist developing alkaline battery/power-to-hydrogen devices. Like many Canadians, I grew up enjoying the outdoors and playing ice hockey. The hiking isn't quite as good in Amsterdam as it was in the Rocky Mountains, and I mostly climb indoors now, but I do still get to play/coach ice hockey two nights a week and this time of year I spend many weekends trekking to our away games all over the Netherlands.
