I am an incoming student at Leiden University, hoping to start in February 2025. I would be doing a Master’s in Biology - specialising in genetics and biotech! I’ve graduated from my bachelor’s degree in Biosciences last year from Technological University Dublin and have been working in a lab for a big pharma company since, which is what made me realise I’d definitely want to go into genetic research. I’m 22 years old! I live in a commuter town near Dublin, Ireland. I was born here but my parents are Romanian. I love going out and socialising, but a lot of the time would prefer some good alone time, I really like making a routine for myself. I don’t really smoke or vape. I love nothing more than an unexpectedly good conversation with someone, and I’m a bad liar so that’ll also never be a problem. Honestly I will take anything when it comes to renting a room. I am looking to rent from the 1st of February, but there is room for flexibility around this if needed. I would just be renting for myself of course! I understand that there is a housing crisis in The Netherlands at the moment, so I understand if priorities are already put in place for Dutch students - I empathise greatly with this situation as Ireland is the same.

Besides, I have my own side projects to build mental health solutions for senior citizens and disadvantaged people. I clean house regularly, do not smoke, do not have pet, and do not play loud music. When I phone someone, I simply put on my earbud. After work, I play badminton and follow Dutch courses. My Dutch level is currently B1+, and I am still learning to improve it. I am a friendly guy who can befriend with anyone sharing the place and likes to organize things such as cleaning and trash collection schedules. I will be starting my degree at the AMS in September 2025, but I am looking to move to Amsterdam as soon as possible. I've lived in both single apartments and shared flats throughout Germany, and despite my more introverted personality, I particularly enjoyed the social nature of flatshares. Mijn naam is Thijmen, ik ben 19 jaar en ga vanaf september wiskunde en natuurkunde studeren aan de Radboud Universiteit. Ik ben net geslaagd voor mijn vwo opleiding en ben op zoek naar een fijne, rustige plek om te wonen in Nijmegen. Ik woon nu in het smalste stukje van Nederland, in Limburg, en dat is te ver om elke dag op en neer te reizen (2 uur). Boulderen is mijn grootste hobby – ik ben vaak in de hal te vinden en geef momenteel ook les aan een aantal jeugdgroepen. Een paar foto’s daarvan staan op mijn Instagram als je benieuwd bent (thijmenclimbing). Daarnaast hou ik van reizen: met Global Exploration ben ik al in Tanzania en India geweest. Ik ben een rustig en vriendelijk persoon die het belangrijk vindt om een goede balans te hebben tussen gezelligheid en eigen ruimte. In mijn vrije tijd speel ik een beetje gitaar en ukelele – geen zorgen, dat zal niet voor overlast zorgen, hooguit voor wat gezelligheid 😉 – en uiteraard hou ik van gamen. Een huis met een rustige, relaxte sfeer waarin iedereen z’n ding kan doen lijkt me ideaal.
