Gedurende mijn drie jaar in Thailand heb ik in een huurhuis gewoond van een Thais echtpaar van 70 jaar dat geen Engels sprak, en de taalbarrière was nooit een probleem. Deze ervaring heeft me in staat gesteld me gemakkelijk aan te passen aan nieuwe situaties en snel de cultuur en taal van het land dat zijn deuren voor mij opent te leren. Wanneer ik een woning deel, eindig ik altijd met het schoonmaken voor mijn huisgenoten, en dat is geen aangename situatie voor mij.
