Hoi allemaal, Mijn naam is Tomas, ik ben 20 jaar. Ik ben tweedejaars student Zorg, Gezondheid en Samenleving aan de Universiteit Utrecht. Dit is een interdisciplinaire opleiding waarin Geneeskunde, Diergeneeskunde en Farmacie samenkomen. Ik kom uit Zoetermeer, waar ik mijn hele leven heb gewoond. Door de dagelijkse reistijd van ongeveer anderhalf uur ben ik inmiddels echt toe aan een kamer of studio in Utrecht. Daarnaast ga ik komend studiejaar een bestuursjaar doen, waardoor ik nog vaker in Utrecht zal zijn. Momenteel werk ik in het ziekenhuis in Zoetermeer. Zodra ik een kamer in Utrecht heb gevonden, wil ik graag de overstap maken naar het UMC Utrecht. Ik ben sociaal, rustig en verantwoordelijk. In mijn vrije tijd sport ik graag en probeer ik een paar keer per week naar de sportschool te gaan. Daarnaast vind ik het fijn om af en toe met vrienden af te spreken, naar de bioscoop te gaan of een terrasje te pakken. Ook kan ik goed op mezelf zijn en vind ik het prettig om thuis tot rust te komen. Dear All, My name is Maxime, I look forward to studying Industrial Engineering at Twente University from this September onwards, and I am therefore looking for welcoming shared apartment in Enschede that I can call home during my studies. I am 19 years old and have lived in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, for the past 18 years, where I attended both English- and German-language schools. I am a German national by origin and therefore often spent my summer holidays in southern Germany, in the Black Forest and the Alpine area south of Munich. Additionally, I’ve travelled to remote parts of the world, particularly in Asia, Europe and the US. I am calm, easy-going and reliable. I fit in easily; I am happy to help and care about creating a home where everyone feels comfortable. At the same time, I am independent and also enjoy spending time on my own. One of my greatest passions is fishing - I was very happy to discover that it is also possible to fish in and around Enschede. I also love downhill skiing in the Alps and once in Japan, as my challenge is moguls. When skiing in Austria, I always look forward to the traditional dish Kaiserschmarrn. Hi! I'm 19 and I've already been living in the Netherlands since August 2025 and know a bit of Dutch. I started studying Industrial Design Engineering at THUAS in September, but already quit (because they were really bad at teaching). I have a part-time job since February. I'm going to study Industrial Design at TU Eindhoven from September, but I'm ready to move a few months earlier. My hobbies/interests are varied, but generally I like thinking about (abstract) stuff and designing/creating things. In my free time I like listening to music, learning stuff and talking with friends.

I am a 24-year-old Canadian law student from Toronto. I have been in Groningen since August 2025. I came to Groningen as part of my Canadian University’s partnership with RUG that allowed me to finish my Canadian Juris Doctor degree and enabled me to get an LLM at RUG. As such, currently, I have completed the Juris Doctor degree and am wrapping up my LLM in Law and Technology at the RUG. In Canada, the study of law is exclusively a graduate study. As a result, I also have an Undergraduate Degree from the University of Toronto. Initially, I planned to go back to Toronto for work after the completion of my study in Groningen. However, I have fallen in love with the city and its walkability/cyclability. As a result, I plan to stay in the city for some time and establish a legal career in Europe. Currently, I am in the process of searching for a legal job. In the meantime, I have lined up some part time work to keep up with expenses. Although surprised, my family is supportive of my decision to stay in Groningen and are willing to act as my financial safety net, if needed. I have been paying 800 EUR for my current SSH accommodation and can provide the receipts. Apart from my study and work-based pursuits, I have kept engaged with hobbies in the city including Salsa and Ballroom dancing. I am also a part of the travel association AEGEE and have taken opportunities to travel across 12 European countries. Additionally, I am currently taking Dutch intensive summer classes. I hope to have at least an A2 level proficiency in the language by the end of this summer.
