Mijn naam is Floris. Momenteel ben ik op zoek naar een fijne studio, woning of kamer waar ik me echt thuis kan voelen. Vanaf september begin ik aan de bachelor Geschiedenis aan de universiteit. Dat is een nieuwe stap waar ik ontzettend naar uitkijk, en daarom hoop ik een prettige plek te vinden om deze periode van mijn leven te starten. Ik ben een rustig, sociaal en verantwoordelijk persoon. Ik houd mijn woonruimte graag netjes en vind het belangrijk om rekening te houden met de mensen om me heen. Een fijne en respectvolle woonomgeving betekent veel voor mij. In mijn vrije tijd ben ik vaak te vinden op het voetbalveld of in de sportschool. Daarnaast luister ik graag naar muziek (uiteraard met een koptelefoon) en bezoek ik regelmatig een filmhuis. Ik geniet van een rustige en gezellige sfeer en ben geen feestganger. I am a 24-year-old Canadian law student from Toronto. I have been in Groningen since August 2025. I came to Groningen as part of my Canadian University’s partnership with RUG that allowed me to finish my Canadian Juris Doctor degree and enabled me to get an LLM at RUG. As such, currently, I have completed the Juris Doctor degree and am wrapping up my LLM in Law and Technology at the RUG. In Canada, the study of law is exclusively a graduate study. As a result, I also have an Undergraduate Degree from the University of Toronto. Initially, I planned to go back to Toronto for work after the completion of my study in Groningen. However, I have fallen in love with the city and its walkability/cyclability. As a result, I plan to stay in the city for some time and establish a legal career in Europe. Currently, I am in the process of searching for a legal job. In the meantime, I have lined up some part time work to keep up with expenses. Although surprised, my family is supportive of my decision to stay in Groningen and are willing to act as my financial safety net, if needed. I have been paying 800 EUR for my current SSH accommodation and can provide the receipts. Apart from my study and work-based pursuits, I have kept engaged with hobbies in the city including Salsa and Ballroom dancing. I am also a part of the travel association AEGEE and have taken opportunities to travel across 12 European countries. Additionally, I am currently taking Dutch intensive summer classes.
