Hi, I'm Judith, a 26-year-old graduate from a village in Germany! I just graduated from my studies to become a teacher for English and German for 10 to 16 year olds. Now I want to gain more practical experience and more insight into different education systems – so I’ll be doing an internship in Wassenaar from January to July 2026 (thanks to the Erasmus+ programme). I’m a very caring person – I laugh loudly, but am otherwise calm and quiet, and I value peace and mutual respect in a shared space (like a true Hufflepuff). I'd describe myself as an extroverted introvert: outgoing and bubbly, but I also really enjoy and need time to myself. I like to keep my space clean and tidy. Since I’m not a big cook (I enjoy eating more than preparing!), I won’t be making a mess in the kitchen either. I love languages (though I’m not the quickest learner) and started learning Arabic last year, which turned into a great (yet difficult) hobby. I also enjoy long walks and discovering new places – usually by accident, since I get lost easily thanks to my non-existent sense of direction. 😅 Trying out new things and challenging myself is kind of a necessity for me. So living in a different country, with new people in a new environment, is a perfect challenge and learning experience – something I’ve been looking forward to and dreaming of for the past couple of years. 😊

My name is Jacopo, and I will start the Master “Conflict Studies and Human Rights” at Utrecht University. I would love to work as a humanitarian operator in regions affected by conflicts and the course at Utrecht offers a lot of opportunities in this field. Therefore, I decided to enroll at the university, even if I knew it is quite challenging to find a place where to live in the city. I am currently in Brussels for an internship with a Dutch NGO (Global Human Rights Defence) where I am learning French. In Utrecht I plan to have a student life, so I will often be outside for university, studying in the library and other activities in general, so I do not think I will be home frequently. For me it would also be important to find a student job, so it will reduce the time I will spend at home. I am a non-smoker, and I do not enjoy very much house parties as I prefer open air festivals or clubs with electronic music, so when I am at home, I like to enjoy some tranquility.
