Hi, I'm Dominik. In June I was admitted to study Computer Science at Saxion University and started organizing my new life as a first year student in Enschede looking for accommodation. I come from a multicultural family - my mother is of Slovak origin and my father is of Colombian origin, so I have both nationalities and I have applied in Saxion University with my Slovak nationality, although I currently reside with my family in the capital of Colombia, Bogota. I am 17 years old and I have just finished my secondary school in Bogota, but very soon I will turn 18 and I consider myself mature enough to move away from my family and embark on a new path at Saxion University. In my multicultural family I have learned since I was little to travel a lot and enjoy adventures of all kinds. From a very young age I have started racing swimming training and today I am the performance swimmer affiliated with the Swimming Federation of Colombia and also of Slovakia. I hope to continue with this hobby also in Holland, since I like sports in general. Outside of sports, perhaps like most young people of my age, I like music and video games. I come from very far away (Colombia) and I have faith that living this way I will be able to adapt much easier to my new life and make lasting friendships with mutual support. Hallo, mijn naam is Jonas! Op dit moment ben ik een Technische Natuurkunde bachelor student in mijn afstudeerfase. Ik ben van plan om komend studiejaar middels een 1-jarig schakelprogramma de master Biomedical Engineering aan de TU Twente te gaan volgen. Ik ben een gezellige, relaxte jongen die altijd wel te porren is voor wat gezelligheid. Of dit nou uitgaan, een film kijken of een kaart/bord spel is. In mijn vrije tijd (voor zover ik dat heb) lees, game en spreek ik graag met vrienden af. Op dit moment doe ik aan zelfverdediging (Krav Maga) en boulder ik af en toe. Ik heb ook ruim 10 jaar lang hockey gespeeld en het lijkt me leuk om dit weer opnieuw op te pakken in Enschede. Een verder verkooppuntje van mijzelf is dat ik al ruim 3 jaar in een restaurant werk, zowel in de afwas als de keuken. Zowel schoonmaken als koken zijn dus dingen die ik zo langzamerhand wel door heb. Dingen een beetje schoon en netjes houden zit er bij mij dus wel goed in. Verder vind ik het ook leuk om nieuwe gerechten en recepten te leren.
