I am an international student currently at the University of Amsterdam. I am very organized, clean, and quiet person. I do not smoke and don’t drink either.

I'm a first year BSc Psychology student at the UvA, I'm originally from Hungary but I grew up in Austria and followed the International Baccalaureate programme for most of middle-/high-school time. I work part-time at a Dutch restaurant and I like to pursue some extra-curricular interests in the form of online courses or internships when I can. I grew up in a very large family so I know how to keep shared spaces clean and give everyone their needed privacy, but I as I'm quite outgoing I also really enjoy my time with people. I'd say I'm quite open, I have friends and family all around the world, and I'm very organised when things depend on it. I'm also a writer and an artist, so while I do tend to be quiet, my daily rhythm can be quite different :). In order for me to be able to continue my studies in Amsterdam, I will need to find accomodation in the city from latest August 2023 onwards.

Daarom ben ik op zoek naar een kamer in of rondom Utrecht vanaf augustus/september. Ik ben sociaal, spontaan, hou van reizen, samen koken of een drankje te doen. In m’n vrije tijd lees ik graag, spreek ik af met vriendinnen en ben ik altijd in voor een wandeling of spontane activiteit. Wat betreft het huis: ik sta overal voor open! Of het nou een gezelligheidshuis is met veel gezamenlijke dingen, of juist een rustiger huis waar iedereen z’n eigen ding doet – ik pas me makkelijk aan en voel me in beide types thuis. I’m Selma — 20 years old, part Greek and part Albanian (I’ve got both passports) and I moved to Amsterdam almost two years ago. I speak English, Albanian, Greek & Italian fluently and can understand a fair bit of Spanish and some Dutch as well. I work full-time in hospitality: I’m a tour guide at the Rijksmuseum and also do front office shifts at two hostels. Life stays busy, but I’m used to it. I’ve lived both alone and with roommates here in the city, so I know how to respect a shared space and keep things clean and easy. I’ve also dealt with the classic Dutch rental chaos — so yes, I’m fully aware of how contracts, rules, and responsibilities work. I’ve had my own flat for over a year now, but honestly? Living solo gets lonely, and it’s just not worth throwing money at. I thought having my own place in the center was the ultimate flex, but I realized it’s not really it, especially for someone like me who’s still figuring out where life will take me after these next few years I plan on spending in Amsterdam. Another big reason I’m looking to switch is to be smarter with my money — I’d rather invest in experiences that actually make me happy, like traveling or the occasional festivals. I don’t throw house parties and I don't go out much aside from events here and there. I do occasionally host friends from abroad (just a couch and good vibes — nothing disruptive). I’m clean, chill, and respectful — I believe in creating the kind of environment I’d want to live in, and I treat others the way I’d expect to be treated. So, I’m social when the vibe’s right, quiet when it’s not, and always considerate when I have guests. PS. Don't let some of my pictures fool you, my hair's now copper instead of black!
