I'm a PhD researcher from Aalborg University, coming to Amsterdam for a funded research stay at UvA from October 2026 until the end of February 2027. My salary comes from my home university and research grants. Rent is covered by Danish research grants. I can provide an employment contract and reference from my department. I currently share a flat in Aalborg and get on well with my flatmate, so I'm used to shared living: I clean up after myself, I'm quiet in the evenings, and I'm at the university most of the day. I'm outgoing and always open for plans. I don't smoke and do not have any pets. Outside work I run, climb, sing at the international choir and play the guitar. For the past five years I've built and run the quality systems behind medical devices , most recently as senior QA officer on an autonomous medical robot, and now as quality and risk lead at Niavicta, where I'm also co-founder. I have an M.A. in International Management, with a thesis on the adoption of autonomous medical devices that was graded with distinction, and a B.Sc. in Physiology and Psychology, cum laude. I'm originally from South Africa, where I worked in medical device regulation before moving to the Netherlands in 2023. I've been in Utrecht since then, so this would be a local move rather than a fresh start, I know the area and I'm settled here. Outside work I'm at the gym a few times a week and I walk a lot; it's how I get away from a screen. The rest of my free time mostly goes into programming , I'm usually building something, learning a new tool, or taking a system apart to see how it works. As a housemate I'm tidy, self-sufficient and easy to live alongside. I cook properly, clean up after myself, and I'm not someone who fills the house with people. I like coming home to a calm place at the end of the day. I'm not a student, which in practice means a steady income, a predictable weekday routine, and no plans to move out at the end of a semester.
