I've lived in shared houses before — a year here in Amsterdam and a year in Australia — so I know how to keep a shared kitchen usable. On the practical side: since I'm still job-hunting I don't have a Dutch employment contract yet, but I have enough savings to cover my stay, and I'm happy to pay a higher deposit or several months of rent in advance.
