Hi, I’m Kerem, a recent graduate in finance. After finishing my studies in Switzerland, I moved to the Netherlands to work and live and to experience another European culture. Originally from Turkey, I am grateful for having experienced three distinct cultures during my life: in France, Switzerland and Turkey. I am a native French speaker, and I speak English fluently and German at intermediate level, along with beginner Dutch. Ik ben Laura! Werkend en op zoek naar een eigen plekje. Ik werk als sociaal werker voor de Voorzieningenwijzer. Ik help mensen met een laag inkomen door samen te kijken waar ze recht op hebben en of er meer financiële ruimte gecreëerd kan worden. In mijn vrije tijd wandel ik graag. Ook ben ik gek op koken en schrijven. Gezellig wat wandelen, kletsen of eten samen met vrienden en familie vind ik ook belangrijk. Sinds een jaartje heb ik een leuke vriend, die is te zien op de foto. Ook daar zal ik een paar dagen per week zijn. In Spanje heb ik voor het eerst een huis gedeeld en dit is mij erg goed bevallen. Wel vind ik het belangrijk dat iedereen zich thuis voelt maar ook dat we het samen netjes houden. Dit is in goed overleg altijd goedgekomen. Van nature ben ik erg sociaal, geordend en netjes. Hopelijk kan ik via Kamernet een fijn thuis vinden!

Ik ben Melissa (28), oorspronkelijk uit Duitsland, en ik start in maart als fulltime onderzoeksassistent aan de Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, waar ik ga werken aan biodiversiteitsthema’s. Mijn contract loopt twee jaar en ik ben op zoek naar een kamer voor langere tijd. Eerder verhuizen (bijvoorbeeld in februari) is voor mij ook mogelijk. Ik heb net mijn studie in Duitsland afgerond en kijk er erg naar uit om mijn eerste “echte” baan in Amsterdam te beginnen. Kleine disclaimer: ik spreek nog geen Nederlands (wel Duits, Engels en Spaans), maar ik heb al eens les gehad en verwacht het redelijk snel op te pakken. Het afgelopen jaar heb ik onderzoek gedaan naar wilde bijen in stedelijke omgevingen.. Ik ben open en vriendelijk, netjes en gewend om samen te wonen. Ik vind het leuk om af en toe samen te eten of te praten, maar kan ook goed mijn eigen ding doen. In mijn vrije tijd sport ik veel, ben ik graag buiten en kook ik regelmatig (meestal vegetarisch/vegan). Omdat mijn vriend in Londen woont, ben ik soms een weekend weg. Over the past year, I worked on research about wild bees in urban environments, with sustainability being close to my heart. I’m easygoing, love to cook (mostly veggie) and generally uncomplicated to live with. I’ve lived in shared flats for many years and genuinely enjoy it. Whether the flat is more social or more on the quiet side, I’m happy with both. In my free time I like running, being outdoors, and I’ll probably join a gym once I’ve settled in. Currently, however, I'm on an exchange programme in China so I'm looking for a new place to live for when I return. Due to the distance I will unfortunately not be able to attent viewings in person, only online. A little about me: I'm a very sociable and easygoing Italian-German girl that enjoys hanging out with friends, spending time outside and always tries to find new things to do. My friends would describe me as an open-minded person, that smiles most of the time, although I might be quite shy and reserved in the beginning.
