Hello! I hope you are well. My name is Anne, I am 21 y/o (22 in November), from Norway. I have graduated with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Amsterdam (UvA). I have lived in the Netherlands for 3 years now, and I loved it so much I decided to apply for a master's here. Luckily for me, I got into the Political Science master's at Leiden University, which I am thrilled about. Before I lived in the Netherlands, I got into the United World College of the Adriatic (UWC AD), which is an international boarding school near Trieste, Italy. It taught me a lot about living with others and respecting our facilities, especially as one of the residences used to be part of the Duino Castle. When I am not working or studying ;) I love to sit down and read a book; my all-time favourite is The Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki by Haruki Murakami, and my favourite childhood books have to be the Harry Potter series. Additionally, I love being able to bike everywhere, especially down to a cafe to meet up with friends or to a pool bar to play. I am not a smoker or a heavy drinker. I am a very clean and tidy person (feedback from my previous roommates). After living with roommates for a combination of 5 years (three roommates in Italy, and one flatmate in Amsterdam), I am well-versed in living with people from all walks of life. Hello, I'm Emilio. I’m 22 years old and will be 23 in May 2026. I was born and raised in Napa, California but have lived in Denver, Colorado for the past 2 years. I have three citizenships, American, Italian and Canadian. I speak English and some Italian, but no Dutch (yet!). I plan on settling into my new home in Amsterdam in June 2026, and will work part-time after getting settled in. I’m willing to rent sooner for the right home to avoid housing chaos. I’m very passionate about non-car centric city planning, which is why I’m going to Amsterdam to study it since I believe they have the best cities in the world. I hope to take that knowledge of the Netherlands and bring it back to the USA to help improve our car-centric cities here. I’m pursuing a Bachelor’s at University of Amsterdam to study Human Geography and Planning, eventually gaining a Masters in a related field. In terms of housing, my preference would be in Amsterdam within a reasonable commute to the Roeterseiland campus, but understand I may need to look further out. I would prefer to live in a private studio, but I’m also open to shared housing. In Denver, I’ve lived with three various other roommates the whole time, and all of us have gotten along very well. I’m very clean and quite quiet, though I do like socializing with my roommates when we’re able to. Having lived with roommates the past 2 years, I’m more than happy to share a space with others and I keep common areas very tidy. I’m excited to meet people from around the world and experience my next chapter.
