Hey friends, it’s my first time venturing out into this form of finding a place while traveling. This is the first summer we are able to stay away from our home for more than 2 weeks and we’re looking for a local experience rather than a hotel (having just left the corporate world). My wife and I are both psychologists and I am a masters student at Oxford University (part time) while we both run a training center in applied mindfulness and psychology. I hold a bachelors in chemical engineering and a double masters in applied positive psychology and mindfulness. My wife is a clinical psychologist. We live in Dubai, where our work and life is built. For this summer we are planning to spend a month in Oxford (as I complete my thesis), a month in Amsterdam, and a month in Portugal — where we have a home (our little fur child — a red haired Shiba Inu — is at our extended family home, we couldn’t bring her with us due to restrictions in the UK 👎). We found a home for our stay at Oxford and now looking for a home for our stay in Amsterdam (or nearby) We are tidy, organized and enjoy quiet mornings and quiet evenings. A cafe nearby to read at and a park and shopping area to enjoy. That for us is an ideal vacation. We have sublet our home in Dubai while traveling before so we understand how important it is to take care of a home and look after it like our own. Ik ben Myrthe (22) en in september 2026 start ik met de opleiding Forensisch Onderzoek aan het Saxion. Ik ben rustig en avontuurlijk tegelijk en sta spontaan in het leven. De afgelopen jaren heb ik als skilerares gewerkt in Oostenrijk, ben ik daar een zomer lifeguard geweest en heb ik als stewardess gevlogen. In mijn vrije tijd speel ik tennis en ben ik regelmatig met vrienden te vinden voor een drankje of gezelligheid. Ook denk ik erover na om me aan te sluiten bij een studentenvereniging en tennisvereniging. Daarnaast heb ik een Australische herder van 1,5 jaar, Monty, die ik graag meeneem, dus mijn voorkeur gaat uit naar een woning waar huisdieren welkom zijn of dit in overleg mogelijk is. Wat ik zoek is een schoon en opgeruimd huis waar het gezellig is, maar ook rust heerst.

Na bijna twee jaar zelfstandig te hebben gewoond in een kamer met een eigen keuken, ben ik toe aan een volgende stap in mijn woonsituatie. In deze periode heb ik veel ervaring opgedaan met zelfstandig wonen en het voeren van een eigen huishouden. Daarom ben ik op zoek naar een zelfstandige woonruimte met volledig eigen voorzieningen, zoals een eigen keuken, badkamer en toilet. Momenteel zit ik in het laatste jaar van mijn bacheloropleiding Bedrijfskunde. Naast mijn studie ben ik actief als zzp'er op meerdere gebieden, waardoor ik een gestructureerde en verantwoordelijke levensstijl heb ontwikkeld. Het combineren van een studie met ondernemerschap vraagt om discipline, planning en zelfstandigheid, eigenschappen die ik ook meeneem in mijn woonsituatie. Ik ben een nette, rustige en verantwoordelijke huurder. Ik hecht veel waarde aan een prettige woonomgeving, ga zorgvuldig om met mijn woonruimte en houd rekening met mijn omgeving en medebewoners. Een zelfstandige woning sluit beter aan bij mijn huidige levensfase, studie en werkzaamheden en biedt mij de rust en ruimte om mij verder te ontwikkelen, zowel academisch als professioneel. Om deze redenen hoop ik in aanmerking te komen voor een zelfstandige woonruimte en kijk ik ernaar uit om deze volgende stap te zetten.
