Goedendag, Ik ben deeltijd PhD-student aan de Erasmus Universiteit Rotterdam, bij de faculteit filosofie. Ik heb een dubbele nationaliteit, Duits en Zuid-Afrikaans, en woon al ongeveer twee jaar in Gouda (Zuid-Holland). Daarvoor heb ik in Brussel (ongeveer 7 jaar) en in Berlijn (ongeveer 1,5 jaar) gestudeerd en gewerkt. Gouda bevalt me goed, het was perfect om mijn proefschrift te schrijven, maar de verhuurder verkoopt het huis en ik moet dus vóór augustus van dit jaar verhuizen. I like to have meaningful conversations, and enjoy the occasional social event. Overall, however, I prefer a quieter peaceful environment. I also play trumpet in a brass Orchestra. It’s quite fun and a good way to meet nice people. We moved to Lyon when I was 11. Before that we were living in Southampton, UK. It was very cosmopolitan, I grew up with kids from Italy, Latin America, India, Poland etc... This is why I am very excited to study in Leiden to experience this cultural diversity that I enjoyed so much as a kid. Being the eldest sibling in a family with two children, taking care of others has always been a pleasure. That is also why I take care of young children monthly with a scout non-profit organisation.
