Hi everyone! I'm Lola, 22 years old and from Vienna, Austria. I'll be moving to the Netherlands at the end of August to get my Masters in Crisis and Security Management at Leiden University (The Hague Campus). Ideally, I'm trying to find a room in a shared apartment/house with roommates or a small apartment/studio either in The Hague, Leiden or Delft to rent for a little more than a year starting mid-August. I'm very excited to be studying "abroad" (or away from home, I guess) again, as I find that experiencing new cultures is one of the best things a young person can do. I'm a huge fan of traveling and I got my Bachelor's degree in the United States, so I think living somewhere different in Europe for my Masters will be a cool change. I'm used to living with people, I've always grown up with siblings and spent the last four years living with 1, 2 and all the way up to 6 people, so I'd say I'm quite adaptable and know how roommate life works. As for my free time, I looove all things food and going out to eat, hanging out with my roommates, reading, going out on the weekends but also having fun nights in. I would describe myself as outgoing, responsible, independent, easygoing, and fun to be around. I'm also a very active person, I've played tennis my whole life and played college sports while in the US but generally enjoy most sports (especially volleyball and football). I don't speak Dutch yet BUT I'll be learning, so for now I hope my German and English (and humble French) will suffice :). Excited to meet you guys!!

Hoi! Ik ben Daniel (27), oorspronkelijk uit Duitsland, en vanaf oktober begin ik als fulltime onderzoeksmedewerker aan de TU Delft, waar ik onderzoek doe binnen de sociologie van klimaatfinanciering. Mijn contract is voor één jaar, maar het kan uitgroeien tot een promotietraject. Voor nu kijk ik vooral of een carrière in de wetenschap bij mij past. Ik heb net mijn studie in Londen afgerond en kijk er erg naar uit om aan mijn eerste "echte" baan te beginnen. Een kleine waarschuwing: ik spreek nog geen Nederlands (alleen Duits, Engels en een beetje Spaans), maar ik ben zeker van plan om het te leren. Ik ben een ontspannen en gezellige huisgenoot, kook graag (meestal vegetarisch) en ben makkelijk om mee samen te wonen. Ik woon al jaren in gedeelde huizen en vind dat nog steeds erg leuk. Of het huis nu heel sociaal is of juist wat rustiger, allebei is prima – zolang we niet alleen als vreemden langs elkaar heen leven.
