My name is Ibimina, a 44yr old woman and mother who was fortunate enough to be awarded a scholarship from the University of Utrecht and would be starting this September with Social Health and Organizational Psychology. I was audacious enough to pivot career paths from Real Estate Management to Psychology in my 40s. I feel so proud of myself and so pumped up to start off this new academic year. I am a student at the University of Applied Sciences in Amsterdam (Hogeschool van Amsterdam) and Lynn studies at Leiden University (The Hague campus). We both borrow the maximum student loan (around €1300). I currently live in Haarlem and Lynn lives in The Hague. We both also have part-time jobs alongside our studies, and we plan to work as well if we move somewhere else. We are both fairly quiet and not really into parties and going out, which is why we are looking for an apartment together or separate studios, rather than traditional shared student housing. Our preference is for a place in the Amsterdam, The Hague, or Leiden regions and surrounding areas, but we are open to other options as well.

Hi there! My name is Jason, I am 23 years old and I'll be visiting the University of Amsterdam for an Erasmus semester starting August 31st 2026 till January 31st 2027. I am currently living in Konstanz, Germany. I study sociology in my 4th semester now and I also study political science as my minor subject. I would describe myself as a very vibrant and social but also as a very sensitive person. I love engaging with people and to communicate with them, even if they're strangers to me. As I am a student in my home country I already have a lot of experience in living with roommates and how to coordinate everything with them. It's very important for me that everyone gets along with each other so everyone can feel like they're at home. Furthermore, I am very aware of leaving my working spaces clean, e.g. in the kitchen. My studies start on August 31st. It would be ideal for me to move in mid-August but I'd also be able to pay rent beginning August 1st. Financially I am supported by a lot of "programs". I receive student loans in my home country and will also get it for studying abroad. Furthermore, I also get an Erasmus scholarship for studying in Amsterdam. Personally, I used to work as a mailman for two years so I still got a lot of savings left. Additionally, I'm also supported directly by my parents and some family members would try to help as well if something ever happens. If it comes to interests there is a variety of stuff that I engage in! :) I enjoy doing sports, especially swimming. Also, I am very interested in a lot of cultural stuff like museums and festivals that are characteristic for a certain country or community. I also recently started to be very interested in comedy shows and poetry slam but I'm not too deep about that yet.
