Hi, My name is Ben Elias Opdenplatz. I'm 20 years old and currently looking for a long-term place in Leiden, where I'll start my Bachelor's in Psychology this autumn. Right now I'm enjoying the last months of my voluntary year in Argentina, where I live together with 30 teenage boys and accompany them through their daily life. This experience is actually what made me want to study psychology – it made me realize I want to work with and for people later on. In my free time I enjoy sports, reading, socializing and learning new things, such as languages. I'm really looking forward to some housemates teaching me Dutch :) I'd describe myself as responsible and easy to live with: I take care of my share of the chores, and since I know living closely together works best when everyone pitches in, I try to be considerate in the shared spaces. I think I'm someone who brings a calm, easy-going vibe to a home. I'd be available from 24 August, but could already start paying rent from the month before if that helps. From the beginning of September 2026 until July 2027, I will be moving to Utrecht to join a medical imaging research group at UMC Utrecht as a research intern. I’m from Bulgaria, and I also did my Bachelor’s here in Delft, so I’m already familiar with the city, the university, the rain and the classic Dutch housing struggle. I’m looking for a room in or around Delft. I’m clean and organized, especially when it comes to shared spaces, and I like living in a place that has a relaxed and fun atmosphere. I enjoy having roommates who are up for doing things together, whether that’s cooking, playing a board game, going out for a drink, or just studying together. In my free time, I like cooking (especially Asian cuisine) and baking, so there is a decent chance there will occasionally be something sweet to try.
