My name is Giulia; I was born and raised in Genoa, Italy. Ever since I was a child, I’ve always dreamed of moving abroad to build a life in a new, international, and open-minded country. In recent years, I’ve managed to turn this dream into a concrete plan, deeply convinced that the Netherlands is the perfect place for me. What attracts me to this country is the people's open-mindedness and the balanced, independent lifestyle. I’ve already visited the country twice, including a cultural exchange where I got a taste of an environment where I see myself growing and studying. The main reason for my move would be the psychology program I’d like to pursue at the University of Leiden, one of the best in Europe. In addition, the campus is located next to the ice skating rink—the sport of my dreams, which I am unable to practice in Italy. So living in Leiden would allow me to study the subject I love and practice the sport I’ve always been passionate about, but have never been able to pursue competitively. For all these reasons, finding a home in the Netherlands is not just a logistical necessity, but a way to realize my life plan. I wish to settle in a quiet and welcoming environment, and as a responsible, organized, and tidy person, it would be an honor to take care of the home as if it were my own.
