Hey, ik ben Marjolein! Ik ga dit jaar beginnen met de studie Bio en Medisch Laboratorium op Avans Hogeschool. Ik wou eigenlijk vorig jaar aan de studie beginnen, maar door 3 rug operaties die in de weg kwamen was dit niet mogelijk. Ik heb veel karakter eigenschappen, de ene beter dan de ander. Ik ben een intens spontaan persoon, maar kan op het begin terug getrokken overkomen als ik in een nieuwe situatie kom. Eerlijkheid staat bij mij voorop. Ik zal altijd eerlijk zijn en dit kan opgevat worden in beide een + of - punt. Ook ben ik een zeer opgeruimd en net persoon en hou van een opgeruimde plek om te wonen. Ik ben niet perse van het uitgaan, maar ga hier en daar mee met vrienden voor de gezelligheid. Iedereen heeft zo zijn min punten en bij mij is dat twijfelen. Ik kan heel erg twijfelen over grote beslissingen, maar door mezelf even terug te trekken kom ik altijd tot een beslissing. Mijn leven kan ik hier niet een notendop vertellen, maar als je me wilt leren kennen dan is een ontmoeting in het echt het perfecte moment. My name is Dionysios Chatzoulis, though my friends call me Dion, and I am 21 years old (soon turning 22). I recently graduated from Augsburg University in Minneapolis, MN, where I completed my degree in Biochemistry. During my studies, I developed a strong interest in drug development research, which inspired me to pursue a master’s degree in Medicinal Chemistry at Radboud University. I am very excited to continue my academic journey in the Netherlands. Throughout my time at Augsburg, I was a full-time student while also working part-time as an Event Assistant for the university. This position provided valuable financial support and strengthened my sense of responsibility and independence. Last summer, I received funding to conduct my first research project, focusing on the Fries Rearrangement reaction using alternative heating sources. My goal was to explore greener catalytic methods for a reaction widely used in the production of pharmaceuticals (such as paracetamol), fragrances, pesticides, and textile dyes. This experience confirmed my passion for research and my desire to contribute to scientific development. Outside of academics, I enjoy staying active.
