About myself, I am open and communicative, social and outgoing, but I also need to have some space and time for just myself. I speak English, French and very little Dutch, which I hope to improve while in Eindhoven. Hoi! Mijn naam is Lily, ik word in september 18 jaar en ik ruil het bruisende Brussel binnenkort in voor het mooie Utrecht. Vanaf het nieuwe collegejaar start ik aan de Universiteit Utrecht met de Academische Pabo. Ik wist al vroeg dat ik het onderwijs in wilde, en deze studie is voor mij de absolute droomstap. Thuis in Brussel ben ik een gezellige en levendige boel gewend: ik woon daar met mijn ouders, mijn broertje van 10 en mijn tweelingbroertje en -zusje van 4. Door dat dynamische gezin ben ik heel zorgzaam en zelfstandig ingesteld, heb ik geleerd om goed tegen een stootje te kunnen en weet ik als geen ander hoe je rekening houdt met elkaar in één huis. Omdat Utrecht een gloednieuw avontuur voor me is, zoek ik niet zomaar een vierkante meter, maar een gezellige thuisbasis. Ik ben perfect tweetalig (Nederlands en Frans) en spreek ook Engels, wat handig is in een internationale stad. Daarnaast neem ik graag wat Brusselse gezelligheid mee naar Utrecht: ik ben altijd in voor samen eten, borrelen of een filmavond, en als goedmaker voor mijn Belgische accent wil ik best een keer echte Vlaamse stoofvlees of wafels voor het huis maken! Uiteraard snap ik de balans tussen gezelligheid en studie, en is ook schoonmaken of een eigen taak in huis oppakken voor mij de normaalste zaak van de wereld. Hi! My name is Andrew, I’m 23 years old and I’m from Romania. I’ll be starting Artificial Intelligence at Radboud University, and I came across your post about the room. I’m currently looking for somewhere in Nijmegen where I can properly settle in and feel at home, ideally for a long time. For the past three years I’ve lived either on my own or in shared housing, so I’m already quite used to sharing a home with other people. In previous houses we coordinated chores and shared responsibilities between us, and I’ve found that things work best when everyone simply communicates and does their part. I also spent part of the last few months travelling in the United States, where I lived with my girlfriend for a while. It was another good experience of sharing a home and adapting to someone else’s routines and way of doing things. Most of my hobbies tend to take place at home. I’m interested in technology and like working on personal projects, gaming, watching movies and learning new things. At the moment I’m teaching myself Spanish, and once I’m settled in Nijmegen I’d also like to pick up piano lessons again. I enjoy cooking as well. I’m obviously familiar with Romanian food, so I’d be very happy to introduce my housemates to some of it at some point. Romanian cuisine is actually quite diverse, even though I’ve noticed that not many people outside Romania know much about it. I’d also like to get back into sports while I’m in Nijmegen. I played handball for several years, and I’d definitely be interested if anyone in the house is into sports or looking for someone to join them. In general, I like having some structure in my week. I tend to organize my time so that I can give enough attention to university, my hobbies and the people in my life without constantly having to sacrifice one for another. When it comes to living together, I’d like to be in a house where people actually know each other and feel comfortable spending time together naturally. At the same time, I understand that everyone has their own schedule, studies and need for personal space. This will also be my first time living in Nijmegen, so I’m really looking forward to discovering the city and what there is to do there. It would be nice to experience some of that together with the people I live with rather than only getting to know Nijmegen through university. I don’t smoke, and I’m looking for somewhere that I can genuinely treat as my home during my studies rather than just a temporary room. One practical thing I wanted to ask is whether registration at the address is possible. I plan to work alongside my studies while living in Nijmegen, so being able to register at the address is important for me. Hi! I’m Melike, a recent Computer Engineering graduate from Turkey, Istanbul. I’ll be moving to Enschede in September 15 for a 6-month Erasmus+ internship till March 14 at the University of Twente. In my free time, I enjoy playing the piano, roller skating and, especially, reading books. I’m an easy-going and considerate person, and I really enjoy spending time with the people around me. I also love cooking for the people I care about, so I’d be happy to occasionally cook and share a meal together. During the week, I’ll mostly be at my internship, but whenever I’m free, I’m always up for having a chat, watching something together, grabbing a drink or simply spending some time together at home. Hiervoor ben ik op zoek naar een kamer waar ik me tijdens mijn studententijd echt thuis kan voelen. Ik ben een sociaal, rustig en verantwoordelijk persoon. Thuis ben ik gewend om met anderen onder één dak te wonen, aangezien ik broers en een zusje heb. Ik weet dus hoe belangrijk het is om rekening met elkaar te houden, afspraken na te komen en ook elkaars rust en privacy te respecteren. Daarnaast werk ik als schoonmaker bij het Martini Ziekenhuis. Netheid en hygiëne zijn voor mij daardoor niet alleen thuis belangrijk, maar ook iets waar ik in mijn werk dagelijks mee bezig ben. Ik ga zorgvuldig om met spullen en vind het vanzelfsprekend om gezamenlijke ruimtes netjes en opgeruimd achter te laten. Buiten mijn studie voetbal ik graag, ben ik regelmatig in de sportschool te vinden en spreek ik graag af met vrienden. Met huisgenoten vind ik het leuk om af en toe een praatje te maken of iets gezelligs te doen, zoals samen eten of iets ondernemen, maar ik vind het ook prima als iedereen gewoon zijn eigen ding doet. Ik hoop een gezellig studentenhuis te vinden waar een goede sfeer hangt, iedereen rekening met elkaar houdt en waar ik voor langere tijd met plezier kan wonen. Ik kijk ernaar uit om kennis te maken!

Hi, ik ben Serra, 20 jaar oud en ik zit nu in mijn eerste jaar Culturele Antropologie aan de UU. De afgelopen jaren heb ik wat tijd nodig gehad om uit te vinden welke studie ik wilde gaan volgen. Ik heb daarom twee tussenjaren genomen en een hbo-opleiding geprobeerd. In mijn tussenjaren heb ik voor langere tijd in verschillende landen gewoond. Afgelopen winter was ik skilerares in Oostenrijk en woonde ik in een huis met zes andere skileraren. Door deze ervaring weet ik dat ik het supergezellig vind om met leeftijdsgenootjes een huis te delen. Dus samenwonen en gezelligheid is zeker geen probleem voor mij. In mijn vrije tijd spreek ik met vrienden af, ben ik af en toe op de sportschool te vinden, en heb ik een horeca baantje die ik stiekem nog best leuk vind ook. Ook speel ik graag verschillende spelletjes; bordspellen, kaartspellen en natuurlijk van tijd tot tijd drankspelletjes. :) Ik ben goed bekend met Utrecht aangezien ik hier ben opgegroeid maar het is nu wel tijd om op kamers te gaan. Ik heb al best een druk leventje opgebouwd en ben op zoek naar een gezellig huis waar we af en toe leuke dingen samen doen maar iedereen ook zijn eigen gangetje gaat.
