I'm Chani, 27, and I work in quality assurance for medical technology. For the past five years I've built and run the quality systems behind medical devices , most recently as senior QA officer on an autonomous medical robot, and now as quality and risk lead at Niavicta, where I'm also co-founder. I have an M.A. in International Management, with a thesis on the adoption of autonomous medical devices that was graded with distinction, and a B.Sc. in Physiology and Psychology, cum laude. I'm originally from South Africa, where I worked in medical device regulation before moving to the Netherlands in 2023. I've been in Utrecht since then, so this would be a local move rather than a fresh start, I know the area and I'm settled here. Outside work I'm at the gym a few times a week and I walk a lot; it's how I get away from a screen. The rest of my free time mostly goes into programming , I'm usually building something, learning a new tool, or taking a system apart to see how it works. As a housemate I'm tidy, self-sufficient and easy to live alongside. I cook properly, clean up after myself, and I'm not someone who fills the house with people. I like coming home to a calm place at the end of the day. I'm not a student, which in practice means a steady income, a predictable weekday routine, and no plans to move out at the end of a semester. I’m Sara, I’m 29 years old and I’m Italian. I’m currently doing a PhD in Italy in Turin, where I’ve been living for the past 10 years. I’m originally from Sardinia, so I’m quite used to living far from home, moving around and living in rented apartments! Now I’m moving to Utrecht for a semester at the Science Park, and I’m really excited about this new experience. I would say I’m a very outgoing person. I love meeting new people, having long conversations and spending evenings together, especially if there is some good food and a nice glass of wine involved.... but I’m also happy with a cold beer! I’m quite active and I love going for long walks, exploring new places and sometimes just getting lost in the streets of a city and taking pictures along the way. I love dancing and cooking, but despite being quite an outgoing person, I also really enjoy having some time for myself, reading a book at home. One thing you’ll probably learn about me pretty quickly is that I’m slightly obsessed with Hungary.
