Hello! My name is João and I'm a post-doctoral researcher and lecturer in Political Science at the University of Amsterdam. I am originally from Brazil, though I have been living abroad since I was 18 (UK, Germany, and NL twice). I am looking for a room with registration and for a longer period, as I intend to remain in The Netherlands long-term (currently working on my Dutch!). Living-wise, I am a pretty quiet person who doesn't take up too much space and I am quite independent. My hobbies including reading, going to the gym/running, watching football, and, unsurprisingly given my profession, overthinking.

Goedendag, Ik ben deeltijd PhD-student aan de Erasmus Universiteit Rotterdam, bij de faculteit filosofie. Ik heb een dubbele nationaliteit, Duits en Zuid-Afrikaans, en woon al ongeveer twee jaar in Gouda (Zuid-Holland). Daarvoor heb ik in Brussel (ongeveer 7 jaar) en in Berlijn (ongeveer 1,5 jaar) gestudeerd en gewerkt. Gouda bevalt me goed, het was perfect om mijn proefschrift te schrijven, maar de verhuurder verkoopt het huis en ik moet dus vóór augustus van dit jaar verhuizen. I like to have meaningful conversations, and enjoy the occasional social event. Overall, however, I prefer a quieter peaceful environment.
