Ik woon al sinds mijn negentiende zelfstandig, dus ik weet goed hoe ik voor mezelf en mijn omgeving zorg. Ik ben een nette en geordende persoon, een rommelig of vies huis geeft mij eerlijk gezegd stress, dus je hoeft je daar geen zorgen over te maken. Financieel ben ik stabiel: ik word ondersteund door mijn ouders en werk daarnaast remote voor mijn vorige universiteit. In mijn vrije tijd sport ik graag, gym, fietsen, zeilen, en ik kook regelmatig voor vrienden. Doordeweeks ben ik meestal rustig thuis, maar in het weekend ga ik graag uit of spreek ik af met mensen. I’m Markus, a 26-year-old Medical Engineering student from JKU/Austria. I’ll be studying at TU/e in Eindhoven as part of an exchange programme, and I’m looking for accommodation from around 17 August until the end of January. I’m generally pretty relaxed and enjoy spending time with other people, but I’m also perfectly happy doing my own thing. When it comes to my own projects and interests, I can sometimes get a bit too invested in the details — probably an engineering thing :) In my free time I like dancing, going to the gym, running and swimming. Een woning huren, omgeven door natuur, is de perfecte plek voor mij. Ik ben een actieve en gezonde persoon. Ik doe dagelijks aan yoga en leid een gezond en ecologisch leven. Gedurende mijn drie jaar in Thailand heb ik in een huurhuis gewoond van een Thais echtpaar van 70 jaar dat geen Engels sprak, en de taalbarrière was nooit een probleem. Ze waren bijna als ouders voor mij en we onderhouden nog steeds contact. Deze ervaring heeft me in staat gesteld me gemakkelijk aan te passen aan nieuwe situaties en snel de cultuur en taal van het land dat zijn deuren voor mij opent te leren. Ik werk nu al zes maanden bij PostNL en ben gewend aan discipline en fysieke inspanning. Ik ben niet een roker, wat ik als een extra waarde beschouw voor elke woning. Ik geef er de voorkeur aan alleen te wonen, omdat ik erg schoon en ordelijk ben. Wanneer ik een woning deel, eindig ik altijd met het schoonmaken voor mijn huisgenoten, en dat is geen aangename situatie voor mij. Daarnaast heb ik een grote interesse om meer te leren over de Nederlandse cultuur en taal. Sinds ik zes maanden geleden naar Nederland ben gekomen, heb ik niet de gelegenheid gehad om de taal te leren vanwege mijn werkomgeving en woonomgeving, omdat ik altijd omringd ben door buitenlanders. Ik ben erg enthousiast om te beginnen met het leren van de Nederlandse gewoonten en taal en me zo snel mogelijk te integreren.
