I am Nishita (she/her), a 25-year-old from India. I will join TU Delft as an MSc Mechanical Engineering student this August. I am a pretty tidy and quiet housemate. Growing up, I really loved to read, which has turned into a love for movies and good tv shows. When I am not reading or watching movies, I generally love to cook. Other than that, I enjoy crafts and photography a lot. But sometimes you just gotta bed rot and doomscroll, and I am all for that. I am also very pet-friendly and a non-smoker. On the weekends, I'll probably clean all around the house and then go out to explore the town. If my housemates really love board games, that would be a great way for me to bond. I'm an MSC Student of Food Engineering at Politecnico di Milano (Italy), and I'm about to spend six months for an Erasmus Exchange Program at Wageningen University & Research institute. I'll start the program on next mid August, just to take part also to the Introductory Days for incoming students, and I'll finish by the end of January. I'm looking for an accomodation to stay during these 6 months and I do not need anything fancy or particular. My basic requirement is a room furnished with a mattress and a desk to study, which are the only things that I'm not able to carry with me from Italy. In general, I'm looking for a room characterized as follows: well kept and clean place, room as silent as possible to let me focus better while studying, university easily reachable by bike or by public transport, and not too many roommates (but I can relax on this last one). I also like social life, but I generally give more importance to my studies. I enjoy socializing with roommates, such as through talking about the culture in different countries, playing cardgames or videogames together, or cooking. Yet, when it comes to going outside too often (and coming back late), hosting unknown friends or having parties at home, this just stresses me a lot, especially next to the exam sessions. Hence, I try to keep a reasonable balance between studying and socializing.
