Deze ervaring heeft me in staat gesteld me gemakkelijk aan te passen aan nieuwe situaties en snel de cultuur en taal van het land dat zijn deuren voor mij opent te leren. Ik werk nu al zes maanden bij PostNL en ben gewend aan discipline en fysieke inspanning. Ik ben niet een roker, wat ik als een extra waarde beschouw voor elke woning. Ik geef er de voorkeur aan alleen te wonen, omdat ik erg schoon en ordelijk ben. Wanneer ik een woning deel, eindig ik altijd met het schoonmaken voor mijn huisgenoten, en dat is geen aangename situatie voor mij. Daarnaast heb ik een grote interesse om meer te leren over de Nederlandse cultuur en taal. Sinds ik zes maanden geleden naar Nederland ben gekomen, heb ik niet de gelegenheid gehad om de taal te leren vanwege mijn werkomgeving en woonomgeving, omdat ik altijd omringd ben door buitenlanders. Hoi! Ik ben Thijmen, 23 jaar en heb gestudeerd in Groningen, waar ik een geweldige studententijd heb gehad. Ik heb inmiddels mijn bachelor Biologie en mijn master Energy & Environmental Sciences gehaald, maar ik ben nog niet helemaal uitgestudeerd. Vandaar dat ik heb besloten nog en master in Public Administration aan de UTwente te doen en zoek ik een fijne plek om te wonen in Enschede. Ik vind het ontzettend gezellig om samen met huisgenoten te eten, een drankje te doen, een goed bordspel te spelen of gewoon even op de bank te hangen. Tegelijkertijd vind ik het ook helemaal prima als iedereen lekker zijn eigen gang gaat en waardeer ik mijn persoonlijke ruimte als ik even rustig aan wil doen. In mijn vrije tijd vermaak ik me altijd wel. Ik speel graag wat op mijn gitaar, hou op m'n tijd van wat gamen en ga regelmatig een rondje hardlopen (met als doel de halve marathon). Daarnaast ben ik nu nog elk weekend actief als leiding bij een scoutingvereniging in Groningen. Zodra ik in Enschede gesetteld ben, ben ik zeker van plan om daar in de buurt ook weer zoiets op te pakken. Ook ben ik graag met mijn vrienden.
