Ik heb net mijn studie Handhaver Toezicht en Veiligheid afgerond en ik ben nu direct aan het solliciteren bij werknemers zoals Service en Veiligheid. Ik werk momenteel ook veel bij de Lidl om een goed inkomen te houden. Mijn inkomen elke maand is nu 1268 euro (netto), maar ik ben van plan om mijn contracteren te verhogen zodat mijn netto maandinkomen rond 2000/2200 gaat zitten. En ik ben volgende week 21 waardoor mijn loon ook flink omhoog zal gaan. Als ik wordt aangenomen bij Veiligheid en Service zou dit inkomen veranderen naar 2700/3200 euro bruto per maand. Ik ben van plan om alleen te gaan wonen. Ik zoek naar een woning in verband met de nieuwe baan. Er is een grote kans dat ik de baan krijg, dus dan moet ik ook een woning hebben in de buurt van mijn werkplek. Ik heb ook een garantstelling van een ouder. When the weather is nice I like to be outside with a good book or picnic. In a housing environment I like to keep things neat and organized and I am very respectful of other peoples' space/items/sleep, etc. I like to take it easy for the most part during the week, but I also enjoy a night out on the weekend. I am happy to have relaxed social gatherings at home like dinner parties, game nights, or film nights, too. When getting to know new housemates I think choosing a show to watch together, cooking a meal together, or chatting over a card/board game are all great ways to connect. I am a non-smoker and I do not have any pets. I love animals, though I would not be able to have any pets go into my room in a shared accommodation as I have an allergy. I’m planning to stay for at least the duration of my studies (two years), but I want to build my career here, so I’m looking for somewhere I can really settle into. Financially, I will be working part-time alongside my studies. If a guarantor is needed, my parents are happy to sign for that. I'm a non-smoker, have no pets, and am generally very clean. I have shared a kitchen and bathroom before, and also lived with a host family. Things I do: draw, read, exercise, teach Korean. My usual schedule: go to campus every weekday for lecture and practicals, go to library to study, get groceries, come back home and relax. I prefer having a healthy lifestyle so I wake up at 8am and go to sleep at 10-11pm. My background: born and raised in Korea until the age of 7, moved to Brazil and lived there for 6 years, completed my secondary school in Malaysia, and now I’m here for university. I am a 24-year-old Canadian law student from Toronto. I have been in Groningen since August 2025. I came to Groningen as part of my Canadian University’s partnership with RUG that allowed me to finish my Canadian Juris Doctor degree and enabled me to get an LLM at RUG. As such, currently, I have completed the Juris Doctor degree and am wrapping up my LLM in Law and Technology at the RUG. In Canada, the study of law is exclusively a graduate study. As a result, I also have an Undergraduate Degree from the University of Toronto. Initially, I planned to go back to Toronto for work after the completion of my study in Groningen. However, I have fallen in love with the city and its walkability/cyclability. As a result, I plan to stay in the city for some time and establish a legal career in Europe. Currently, I am in the process of searching for a legal job. In the meantime, I have lined up some part time work to keep up with expenses. Although surprised, my family is supportive of my decision to stay in Groningen and are willing to act as my financial safety net, if needed. I have been paying 800 EUR for my current SSH accommodation and can provide the receipts. Apart from my study and work-based pursuits, I have kept engaged with hobbies in the city including Salsa and Ballroom dancing. I am also a part of the travel association AEGEE and have taken opportunities to travel across 12 European countries. Additionally, I am currently taking Dutch intensive summer classes. I hope to have at least an A2 level proficiency in the language by the end of this summer.
