I’m Melissa (28), originally from Germany, and I’ll be starting a full-time position as a research assistant at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam this March, working on biodiversity-related topics. My contract is for two years, and I’m ideally looking for a place long-term. I’d also be happy to move in earlier, for example in February. I’ve just finished my studies in Germany and I’m really excited to begin my first “real” job in Amsterdam. A small heads-up: I don’t speak Dutch yet (only German, English and Spanish), but I’ve taken some classes before and I’m confident I’ll pick up the basics fairly quickly. Over the past year, I worked on research about wild bees in urban environments, with sustainability being close to my heart.
