Hello there! I'm a self-employed multidisciplinary creative professional (photographer/creative director/media background) who relocated to the Netherlands from the U.S. in February. I have a valid visa & residence permit, a business registered with the KvK, a growing network of Dutch friends and a sense of community, having previously spent extended stays in the NL twice in two years. This time, my move is permanent. I have never felt more at home than I do with my feet in the ground in the Netherlands. I am in LOVE with Het Gooi region, where I'm and am temporarily staying. I know every trail, every neighborhood, farm and public transport access from Bussum, Huizen and Blaricum to Laren and Hilversum. I'm also familiar with Naarden, LOVE Baarn, Hoorn, Haarlem, Amersfoot and Den Haag - where I have friends. I'm aware of the housing shortage, and will happily consider any availability within a 90-minute commute by public transportation to Amsterdam, where much of my work seems to be. I have an excellent rental history and personal references and I care for my space. I have a green thumb, love people, adore animals, art, am newly enthusiastic about golf, opera, and even the raindrops most complain about - there's serenity in gray days, too! I would love my independence and a studio or apartment, but I also understand the housing shortage yields few or unaffordable rentals, so I'd be open to discussing sharing in a bright, comfortable place with someone kind and respectful, who appreciates some privacy and room to breathe. :) I have no pets, but huge bonus if you do! ;) Registration is necessary. I have grown up in the UK but I am looking to come over to the Netherlands to study and improve my Dutch. I am looking to start a bachelors in Dutch studies in September 2026 to improve my Dutch and then either keep up that course or switch to a course in liberal arts and science. I am a very active person and love to play sports, go out running, on bike rides, climbing and am always looking to try new activities. I am very active but I am also just as happy to sit down and have a chill time playing board games or watching a movie or just sitting and chatting. I am also a very keen cook and love to cook for a group so would be very happy to cook at least once a week and am always good at helping clear up so there won't be any fuss from having to get involved and do my shift.
