My name’s Ruben, I’m Dutch but grew up in England, I’m 27 years old, working part-time as I’m finishing my final year of studies in Architecture. I’ve been living in Amsterdam for 4 years already and need to move out of my apartment by July 30th. I’m pretty sociable and enjoy hanging out in the evenings, over a beer or wine or whatever, whenever I’m not working on my studies. I have a busy schedule during the week and sometimes work late, but in my spare time I enjoy playing tennis, football and going to concerts or an exhibition. I’m generally pretty chilled. During the weekend, I make some plans with friends, go to exhibitions or have a relaxed night in with good food. I’ve always enjoyed hanging out with my previous flatmates and enjoy getting to know them. Hii, I’m Francisca, 26, Portuguese. I’ve been living in Utrecht for a year while doing my master’s at Utrecht University and working part-time (20h/week). I recently graduated and I’m now planning to move to Amsterdam (or somewhere close by) in September. I’ll be looking for a job in my field (Economics), and meanwhile I’ll continue working full-time at my current job (supermarket) to support myself financially. My grandmother, who is my guarantor, also provides financial support as a backup. I’m super chill and happy to share meals and plan things together, but I also really value my alone time. Hoi, Mijn naam is Roman, ik ben 22 jaar en heb onlangs mijn bachelor Filosofie, Politicologie en Economie afgerond aan de Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Vanaf september begin ik aan de master Econometrics aan de Erasmus Universiteit Rotterdam en ben ik op zoek naar een kamer voor de duur van deze master, ongeveer twee jaar. Tijdens mijn bachelor ben ik onder andere bestuurslid geweest bij de Amnesty International Student Group Amsterdam, waar ik verantwoordelijk was voor externe relaties en evenementenorganisatie. Daarnaast werk ik als stadsgids in Amsterdam, waar ik rondleidingen geef over de geschiedenis en politiek van de stad. Dit werk heeft mijn communicatieve vaardigheden sterk ontwikkeld en ik ga graag het gesprek aan met mensen van uiteenlopende achtergronden. Ik ben internationaal georiënteerd, maar spreek inmiddels ook Nederlands op B1-niveau en oefen dit graag verder. In mijn vrije tijd ga ik regelmatig naar de sportschool en verdiep ik me in kunst, onder andere door regelmatig musea te bezoeken. Ik ben benieuwd om me daarnaast ook creatief te ontwikkelen, bijvoorbeeld met keramiek of schilderen. Als huisgenoot ben ik sociaal en behulpzaam, maar ik respecteer ook rust en privacy.
