Ik ben Toon, 28 jaar, en binnenkort verhuis ik van Zürich naar Utrecht. Het voorbije jaar woonde ik in Zwitserland, waar ik als postdoctoraal onderzoeker werkte. Binnenkort start ik aan de Universiteit Utrecht, en hoewel ik met pijn in het hart afscheid neem van de prachtige Zwitserse bergen, kijk ik er ontzettend naar uit om Utrecht en het Nederlandse leven te ontdekken. Buiten mijn werk ben ik met allerlei zaken bezig, liefst met vrienden en kennissen. Ik fiets en loop graag, en vooral klimmen is een grote passie. Ik trek er dan ook regelmatig een weekendje met vrienden op uit naar mooie klimplekken in Europa, bijvoorbeeld Fontainebleau is een vaste favoriet. Daarnaast lees ik veel, ga ik graag wandelen of kamperen en kook ik graag. Verder speel ik akoestisch gitaar en speel ik heel graag bordspellen. In het algemeen heb ik dus graag een rustig leven en hecht ik ook veel aan een rustig thuis. Samenwonen is voor mij ook zeker meer dan gewoon een huis delen. Tijdens mijn studententijd en de eerste jaren van mijn doctoraat heb ik altijd met vrienden in een cohousing gewoond. Dat waren jaren waar ik met heel veel plezier en warme herinneringen op terugkijk. Samen koken, spontaan een glas drinken in de keuken, elkaar tegenkomen na een lange dag, samen sporten of gewoon een avondje niets doen. Ik zou het dan ook heel fijn vinden om opnieuw in een huis terecht te komen waar er ruimte is voor die vanzelfsprekende gezelligheid, maar waar iedereen natuurlijk ook zijn eigen leven en ritme heeft en daar respect voor is. Ik ben dus vooral op zoek naar een plek waar mensen elkaar graag zien, waar er af en toe spontaan iets samen gebeurt, en waar je je na een drukke dag ook gewoon even in de zetel kunt laten vallen. Ik vind het leuk om nieuwe mensen te leren kennen en ben meestal wel te vinden voor een gezamenlijk plan, van samen koken of een bordspelavond tot een fietstocht en klimdag. Hi everyone! I'm Lola, 22 years old and from Vienna, Austria. I'll be moving to the Netherlands at the end of August to get my Masters in Crisis and Security Management at Leiden University (The Hague Campus). Ideally, I'm trying to find a room in a shared apartment/house with roommates or a small apartment/studio either in The Hague, Leiden or Delft to rent for a little more than a year starting mid-August. I'm very excited to be studying "abroad" (or away from home, I guess) again, as I find that experiencing new cultures is one of the best things a young person can do. I'm a huge fan of traveling and I got my Bachelor's degree in the United States, so I think living somewhere different in Europe for my Masters will be a cool change. I'm used to living with people, I've always grown up with siblings and spent the last four years living with 1, 2 and all the way up to 6 people, so I'd say I'm quite adaptable and know how roommate life works. As for my free time, I looove all things food and going out to eat, hanging out with my roommates, reading, going out on the weekends but also having fun nights in. I would describe myself as outgoing, responsible, independent, easygoing, and fun to be around. I'm also a very active person, I've played tennis my whole life and played college sports while in the US but generally enjoy most sports (especially volleyball and football).
