Hi! Mijn naam is Cas. Sinds een jaar studeer ik Geneeskunde aan de UvA. En ja, daar ben ik als 29 jarige misschien iets ouder voor dan de gemiddelde eerstejaars. Hiervoor werkte ik bij de Koninklijke Marine, maar de ambitie om arts te worden bleef kriebelen. Uiteindelijk heb ik besloten die droom na te jagen, en daar heb ik geen moment spijt van gehad. Door mijn achtergrond ben ik behoorlijk gedisciplineerd en zelfstandig. Met de hoeveelheid studiestof die bij Geneeskunde komt kijken is dat ook geen overbodige luxe. De meeste dagen breng ik veel tijd door in de UB, vaak ook in het weekend. Naast studeren vind ik het belangrijk om sociaal actief te blijven. Ik woon inmiddels al vijf jaar in Amsterdam en ken de stad daardoor goed. Ik spreek graag af met vrienden, ga af en toe de stad in en geniet van alles wat Amsterdam te bieden heeft. Momenteel ben ik op zoek naar een nieuwe kamer omdat mijn relatie recent is geëindigd. Daarom zoek ik een fijne plek waar ik de komende jaren met plezier kan wonen tijdens mijn studie. My name is Corlien, and I have been very happily together with Francis for almost four years. We are looking for our first home to move in together! Now that we have both graduated and started new jobs, this seemed like a perfect time to move in together. It is something we have wanted for a very long time! At the moment, we are both still living in our student houses. We have outgrown them, and I also have to leave soon because I have finished my studies. I am from The Hague and completed my chemistry degree in April. In May, I started as a research chemist at Lignitec, a Delft-based startup in bio-building materials. Additionally, I have been working as a retail specialist at Sounds, a record store in the center of Delft, for several years. I ended up there as a side job during my student days because I have been collecting LPs for years. I will continue working there part-time. On weekends, I defend the goal for a fun hockey team at Hudito. We always win the third half. My partner Francis grew up in Friesland and works as an AI specialist at Coolblue in Rotterdam. In 2024, he completed his Master's in Computer Science at TU Delft. When he comes home from work, he enjoys cooking a nice (Italian) meal. He also likes playing squash with friends at Squash Delft and regularly pulls out a board game. Francis and I met through the Delft student sailing association and fell so in love with Delft that we would like to continue living in this region. This way, we can easily travel by train or bike to work, family, and friends, who are largely located in Delft and The Hague. Together, we earn between €5,000 and €5,500 per month. My parents are very happy for us to find a home together. They (my mother) are therefore willing to act as guarantors for our rent. Hopefully, this gives you an impression of who we are.
