We are currently searching for a furnished 1 to 2 bedroom apartment starting from 26 August 2026, with a maximum budget range of €1,500 to €2,000. Ideally, we would prefer a place with registration and a long-term contract, but we’re also open to temporary housing for 6 months if that helps us settle in comfortably while we search for something more permanent. We’re flexible when it comes to location, as long as the commute to Bijlmer Arena is manageable by public transport, ideally within 30 minutes or so. Areas such as Amstelveen, Diemen, Amsterdam Zuid, Nieuw-West, Haarlem, Hoofddorp, Aalsmeer, Heemstede, and nearby locations would all work well for us. A bit about us: we’re a quiet, tidy married couple who enjoy exploring new cities, staying active, and building a comfortable home wherever we go. We both value a clean, respectful living space and believe we would be reliable, low-maintenance tenants who would take excellent care of the property. Since this will be our first rental in the Netherlands, we don’t yet have a local landlord reference to share. Mijn naam is Emma-Jane. Ik ben 27 jaar en werk als onderzoeker bij het Erasmus MC. Vanwege omstandigheden moest ik mijn eerdere woonruimte verlaten. Nu ben ik op zoek naar een fijne woning voor mijzelf. Omdat ik de laatste fase van mijn onderzoek inga, is stabiliteit en een vaste woonplek voor mij erg belangrijk. Ik kom oorspronkelijk uit Zuid-Afrika. Na mijn studie in Duitsland ben ik naar Nederland gekomen voor mijn PhD-onderzoek. Ik begrijp Nederlands goed en kan het ook goed schrijven. Zelf spreken vind ik nog wat lastiger, maar ik ben het actief aan het leren. Daarnaast ben ik al geruime tijd in een stabiele en toegewijde relatie. Toch woon ik graag zelfstandig, omdat ik merk dat dit het beste werkt voor mijn onderzoek en werkzaamheden. Een rustige eigen woonruimte helpt mij om mij volledig op mijn werk te kunnen concentreren. In mijn vrije tijd breng ik graag tijd door met vrienden en ben ik graag in de natuur. Vooral een lange fietstocht langs een meer of de zee vind ik heerlijk. Holland heeft inmiddels echt mijn hart gestolen. Ik voel mij hier thuis en zou mij hier graag voor de lange termijn willen vestigen.
