Ik heb afgelopen jaar het eerste jaar fashion design afgerond aan het Amfi, maar zal vanaf September de bachelor Fashion Design year 1 aan ArtEZ volgen. Momenteel ben ik op zoek naar een fijne woonplek voor de komende jaren. Ik ben een enthousiast, rustig en verantwoordelijk persoon die veel waarde hecht aan een nette en rustige woonomgeving. Ik ben zelfstandig, maar ik vind het ook leuk om de mensen met wie ik samenwoon beter te leren kennen. I am a 24-year-old Canadian law student from Toronto. I have been in Groningen since August 2025. I came to Groningen as part of my Canadian University’s partnership with RUG that allowed me to finish my Canadian Juris Doctor degree and enabled me to get an LLM at RUG. As such, currently, I have completed the Juris Doctor degree and am wrapping up my LLM in Law and Technology at the RUG. In Canada, the study of law is exclusively a graduate study. As a result, I also have an Undergraduate Degree from the University of Toronto. Initially, I planned to go back to Toronto for work after the completion of my study in Groningen. However, I have fallen in love with the city and its walkability/cyclability. As a result, I plan to stay in the city for some time and establish a legal career in Europe. Currently, I am in the process of searching for a legal job. In the meantime, I have lined up some part time work to keep up with expenses. Although surprised, my family is supportive of my decision to stay in Groningen and are willing to act as my financial safety net, if needed. I have been paying 800 EUR for my current SSH accommodation and can provide the receipts. Apart from my study and work-based pursuits, I have kept engaged with hobbies in the city including Salsa and Ballroom dancing. I am also a part of the travel association AEGEE and have taken opportunities to travel across 12 European countries. Additionally, I am currently taking Dutch intensive summer classes. I hope to have at least an A2 level proficiency in the language by the end of this summer.

I am fluent in English (C1) and learning Dutch, and I am currently around A2 in understanding (both listening and reading) and around A1 in speaking and writing. But since I have now passed all my finals, I can start spending more time learning Dutch, and I anticipate reaching B1 overall by early September and maybe B2 within the next year.
