This isn't my first time in the Netherlands. I lived in Utrecht during my Erasmus exchange and fell in love with the country, which is a big part of why I wanted to come back. I've lived with other people before, so I'm comfortable with shared living and genuinely enjoy getting to know housemates, while also being happy to have my own quiet time. I started running a few months ago and try to keep it up almost daily (mostly to survive PhD life!). I tend to have a calm, structured routine, and I'm very mindful about keeping shared spaces clean and tidy. Hey friends, it’s my first time venturing out into this form of finding a place while traveling. This is the first summer we are able to stay away from our home for more than 2 weeks and we’re looking for a local experience rather than a hotel (having just left the corporate world). My wife and I are both psychologists and I am a masters student at Oxford University (part time) while we both run a training center in applied mindfulness and psychology. For this summer we are planning to spend a month in Oxford (as I complete my thesis), a month in Amsterdam, and a month in Portugal — where we have a home (our little fur child — a red haired Shiba Inu — is at our extended family home, we couldn’t bring her with us due to restrictions in the UK 👎). We found a home for our stay at Oxford and now looking for a home for our stay in Amsterdam (or nearby) We are tidy, organized and enjoy quiet mornings and quiet evenings. A cafe nearby to read at and a park and shopping area to enjoy. That for us is an ideal vacation. We have sublet our home in Dubai while traveling before so we understand how important it is to take care of a home and look after it like our own.
