Hello, I'm Emilio. I’m 22 years old and will be 23 in May 2026. I was born and raised in Napa, California but have lived in Denver, Colorado for the past 2 years. I have three citizenships, American, Italian and Canadian. I speak English and some Italian, but no Dutch (yet!). I plan on settling into my new home in Amsterdam in June 2026, and will work part-time after getting settled in. I’m willing to rent sooner for the right home to avoid housing chaos. I do have savings and allocate my financial resources responsibly. I enjoy playing video games such as Cities: Skylines, and going to many EDM shows. I’m social but not a big partier. I love travelling and have visited my family in Italy since I was 6 months old. I’m very passionate about non-car centric city planning, which is why I’m going to Amsterdam to study it since I believe they have the best cities in the world. I hope to take that knowledge of the Netherlands and bring it back to the USA to help improve our car-centric cities here. I’m pursuing a Bachelor’s at University of Amsterdam to study Human Geography and Planning, eventually gaining a Masters in a related field. In terms of housing, my preference would be in Amsterdam within a reasonable commute to the Roeterseiland campus, but understand I may need to look further out. I would prefer to live in a private studio, but I’m also open to shared housing. In Denver, I’ve lived with three various other roommates the whole time, and all of us have gotten along very well. I’m very clean and quite quiet, though I do like socializing with my roommates when we’re able to. Having lived with roommates the past 2 years, I’m more than happy to share a space with others and I keep common areas very tidy. I’m excited to meet people from around the world and experience my next chapter.

Hallo! Onze namen zijn Damiën en Hannah en we zijn van plan om te verhuizen naar Utrecht in mei/juni 2026. We zijn nu 2 jaar aan het daten. Damiën is Nederlands en Hannah komt oorspronkelijk uit Zuid Afrika maar heeft inmiddels een permanente verblijfsvergunning. Wij zijn beiden studenten. So a bit about Hannah: I moved from South Africa to the Netherlands in 2020 with my family and completed high school at an international school in Amsterdam. Because I have lived in the Netherlands for over five years, I have my Dutch permanent residency and am eligible for DUO financing. I then moved to Groningen in 2023 where I studied a bachelor of science in Human Geography and Planning at the Rijks Universiteit. I’ve lived alone for the duration of my time in Groningen on a houseboat (see attached a reference letter from my current/past landlord!) I am on track to graduate from the RUG in May and am going to continue my studies at the University of Utrecht where I will do my masters at the Faculty of Geosciences. My hobbies include reading, writing (I am currently the Chairman of my faculty magazine, Girugten) and working out. Iets over Damiën: Ik kom uit Heerenveen in Friesland en ga naar de NHL Stenden Hogeschool in Leeuwarden. Ik ben in februari met mijn 4e jaar integrale veiligheidskunde begonnen. Afgelopen jaar heb ik een half jaar pauze genomen van mijn studie om 40 uren per week te werken bij een Sijperda steigerbouw om wat werkervaring op te doen en wat geld te sparen. Na deze zes maanden ben ik bij hetzelfde bedrijf begonnen als projectmedewerker veiligheid in het kader van een 3e jaars stage. Deze stage heb ik af kunnen ronden om daarna soepel over te kunnen gaan in mijn 4e jaar in februari. In september ben ik van plan om te beginnen met mijn 4e jaars stage. Deze keer zou ik het liefst bij een wat meer internationaal bedrijf willen werken aangezien ik mij ga specialiseren en daarom wil ik graag verhuizen naar een stad die wat diverser is. Mijn hobbies zijn naar de sportschool gaan, videospelletjes spelen, boogschieten en schaken. Als koppel zijn we best wel relaxed. We drinken graag koffie, gaan graag lange stukken lopen, en wij vinden het beiden ook heel leuk om te reizen. wij zijn beiden geen grote feestbeesten of grote drinkers en we hebben ook geen huisdieren. After completing my Bachelor’s in PPLE at the University of Amsterdam, I moved back to Vienna for a while and am now returning to the Netherlands to start a Master’s in International Relations at Leiden University.
