I'm a historian and visiting research fellow at the International Institute for Asian Studies (IIAS) at Leiden University, coming to Leiden in autumn 2027 for a short stay of about three months (roughly August–November, with some flexibility). I'm looking for a furnished room or studio in or near Leiden for that period. I'm in my forties, travel on my own, and don't smoke. I'm quiet and tidy, spend most of my days at the library or archive, and I'm easy to live with — I've rented rooms in shared houses in several countries and am comfortable with shared kitchens and common spaces. Because my stay is under four months, I don't need to register at the municipality, so rooms where registration isn't possible work fine for me. I can provide my official IIAS invitation letter and proof of funds, and I'm happy to pay the full rental period in advance. I reply quickly and can do a video viewing at short notice.
