Hey friends, it’s my first time venturing out into this form of finding a place while traveling. This is the first summer we are able to stay away from our home for more than 2 weeks and we’re looking for a local experience rather than a hotel (having just left the corporate world). My wife and I are both psychologists and I am a masters student at Oxford University (part time) while we both run a training center in applied mindfulness and psychology. I hold a bachelors in chemical engineering and a double masters in applied positive psychology and mindfulness. My wife is a clinical psychologist. We live in Dubai, where our work and life is built. For this summer we are planning to spend a month in Oxford (as I complete my thesis), a month in Amsterdam, and a month in Portugal — where we have a home (our little fur child — a red haired Shiba Inu — is at our extended family home, we couldn’t bring her with us due to restrictions in the UK 👎). We found a home for our stay at Oxford and now looking for a home for our stay in Amsterdam (or nearby) We are tidy, organized and enjoy quiet mornings and quiet evenings. A cafe nearby to read at and a park and shopping area to enjoy. That for us is an ideal vacation. We have sublet our home in Dubai while traveling before so we understand how important it is to take care of a home and look after it like our own. Zelf spreken vind ik nog wat lastiger, maar ik ben het actief aan het leren. Daarnaast ben ik al geruime tijd in een stabiele en toegewijde relatie. Toch woon ik graag zelfstandig, omdat ik merk dat dit het beste werkt voor mijn onderzoek en werkzaamheden. Een rustige eigen woonruimte helpt mij om mij volledig op mijn werk te kunnen concentreren. In mijn vrije tijd breng ik graag tijd door met vrienden en ben ik graag in de natuur. Vooral een lange fietstocht langs een meer of de zee vind ik heerlijk. I have spent the last 3 years living in Rotterdam for my Bachelor's, and this September I will be starting a Master's in Cognitive Neuroscience in Maastricht. I have been living in shared apartments for the past 5 years, so I am very used to sharing a space and being considerate of the people around me. I like it when a shared apartment feels a bit social, and it's nice to occasionally hang out with the people I live with.
