Hey, so a bit of context, I'm 24, finishing up my engineering degree at RWTH Aachen (mechanical/aerospace side of things), and I'll be in the area from September to end of January for an internship at ASML. I get that it's a short stay and I'd basically be stepping into someone else's spot for those few months, so I just want to be upfront that I'll treat it that way, keeping things clean and the noise down. Realistically I'll be pretty busy with work most of the week, and on weekends I'm usually in Maastricht seeing friends, so the room won't see much wear and tear. I speak German, English and Bulgarian so language isn't an issue, and I've lived in a few different cities already so settling in somewhere new isn't really a problem for me. A little bit about myself: I am from Cyprus, I’m 22 years old and i’m moving from Amsterdam to Rotterdam to do a Maritime and Transport Law masters degree in the Erasmus University :) Fun fact: this will actually be my second master’s degree! I just finished my LLM in Public International Law at the University of Amsterdam. Before that, I lived in Groningen for three years where i did my bachelors degree. So I think it’s fair to say I’ve become quite attached to the Netherlands, I already know (and genuinely enjoy) the Dutch lifestyle, which makes staying here for another year feel like just a very natural next step. I love reading and cooking and even sometimes sharing meals with friends. I love going to concerts and seeing my favourite artists live, and I also appreciate spending time outdoors, whether it's exploring the city, going on a bike rides to see the sunset or organizing fun and vibey hangouts with friends! Back in Amsterdam, I briefly started going to pilates, which i found surprisingly fun!! I also had a part-time job there which I am planning on continuing in Rotterdam,so apart from uni, i will also work a few days a week!! I have been living with 2 roommates for the past 4 years here in the Netherlands, and we built a great routine and balance when it comes to sharing space. As this is now my fifth year living abroad and sharing housing, I am used to cohabiting respectfully and maintaining a tidy, clean and quiet environment, which obviously includes cleaning up after yourself, sharing chores, but also being transparent with one another! I am genuinely happy when the house feels lively and vibrant and at the same time I also understand when we want to have our quiet moments and privacy.

My partner and I are excited to begin this new chapter as expats relocating from India and become part of the Amsterdam community. We are currently searching for a furnished 1 to 2 bedroom apartment starting from 26 August 2026, with a maximum budget range of €1,500 to €2,000. Ideally, we would prefer a place with registration and a long-term contract, but we’re also open to temporary housing for 6 months if that helps us settle in comfortably while we search for something more permanent. We’re flexible when it comes to location, as long as the commute to Bijlmer Arena is manageable by public transport, ideally within 30 minutes or so. Areas such as Amstelveen, Diemen, Amsterdam Zuid, Nieuw-West, Haarlem, Hoofddorp, Aalsmeer, Heemstede, and nearby locations would all work well for us. A bit about us: we’re a quiet, tidy married couple who enjoy exploring new cities, staying active, and building a comfortable home wherever we go. We both value a clean, respectful living space and believe we would be reliable, low-maintenance tenants who would take excellent care of the property. Since this will be our first rental in the Netherlands, we don’t yet have a local landlord reference to share. However, we’re happy to provide other forms of assurance, including proof of employment and income, or references from colleagues in Amsterdam who know me personally. On the documentation front, we’ll be completing our formal registration after arriving in the Netherlands, including BSN and municipality registration, and expect all formalities to be wrapped up within 1 to 2 weeks of landing.
