Hi everyone :) I'm LEA (Looking Endlessly for Accommodation in NL), and I'll be moving to Groningen in September to start my Erasmus Mundus Master's. I grew up in Germany with a French mum, a Belgian dad, and a younger brother. After high school, I spent a few years travelling and volunteering before starting university. During this time, I lived in Cyprus and on Sylt, hitchhiked through North and West Africa, and eventually began studying Political Science in The Hague. Most recently, I spent 1.5 years in Santiago, Chile. I originally went there for a six-month exchange but loved it so much that I stayed. Living abroad and sharing homes with people from all over the world has changed my perception of what 'home' means: it's less about the place and more about the people around you - when friends become family and a culture starts to feel like your own. That probably sums me up quite well. I'm a very loving and sociable person, and I follow where my curiosity calls. Since leaving home, I've lived in many shared houses, which is honestly my favourite way to live. I love cooking together, sharing stories over dinner, and creating a warm home, while also respecting everyone's space and quiet. One of my superpowers? Speaking languages: French, German, English, Spanish, and Dutch. Outside of studying, I can usually be found on my bike, learning a new language, going to the theatre or visiting exhibitions. I took up road cycling in Chile, which became one of my biggest passions, but I love pretty much any outdoor activity and adventure.
