Mariniersweg
About the place
I’m looking for a subtenant from January 2025 for a few months (exact move-in and move-out dates are negotiable). Our preference goes out to a female (exchange) student/young professional between the ages of 24 and 32. An independent, spontaneous, calm, proactive & hygienic roommate would fit perfectly in our household! The apartment is located in a well-maintained building on Mariniersweg/Blaak (opposite the Cube Houses & Market Hall), where there are no other students, and there’s a mix of young couples and older residents. The apartment is on the top (7th) floor with a view of the city. You will be living with my roommate Naoual (28 years old), who works 4 days a week as a supermarket manager (her schedule varies per week) and is also finishing her Bachelor’s at Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences. We’ve adopted a few household habits to ensure comfortable living together: • Shared spaces are always left clean (e.g., after cooking); • We take turns thoroughly cleaning once a week; • NO house parties are allowed (although a glass of wine with friends is fine as long as we discuss it!); • Smoking is only allowed on the balcony; • No pets. You will have your own bedroom, bathroom (!), and balcony. The living room, kitchen, and toilet are shared. The bedrooms are exactly the same size (approx. 17 m2, including bathroom, excluding balcony). You never hear noise from the neighbors, and they never hear us. I’ve always maintained my room well, and it’s comfortably furnished. You’ll only need to bring your clothes, as everything else is provided for you (bedding, towels, closet, etc.). Of course, you’re free to bring your own bedding/towels if you prefer. My room comes with a nice double bed (1.80m x 2.00m), a closet with sliding doors, a smart TV, and portable air conditioning. The bathroom features a pleasant rain + normal shower, towel racks, and a spacious cabinet for all your personal care products. The living room and kitchen are also fully equipped with all necessary utensils/kitchen appliances (dishwasher, Nespresso machine, blender, toaster, etc.). There’s also a washing machine, dryer, and 2 personal laundry baskets. I have a strict preference for a hygienic subtenant: as I’m leaving the room for you, I expect it to be returned in the same condition since I’ll be using it again after the sublet period. Additional info: • Public transport is 1 minute away (Blaak station) with trains, metro, buses, and trams; • Nightlife spots are within walking distance (5-10 min); • There are 4 supermarkets of different price ranges within 500 meters (Albert Heijn, Jumbo, Lidl & Dirk vd Broek); • It’s located in the city center, surrounded by nice restaurants, bars, and coffee spots; • Gyms like TrainMore and Rocycle/Roform are across the street; • Practical stores such as Swapfiets, Praxis hardware store, and the Rotterdam Library are located under/next to the building; • Erasmus University is a 10-minute bike ride, and the same goes for Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences locations.
