About the place

A single room in a spacious, stylish, and very bright apartment in a residential area in Buitenveldert. A 5-minute bike ride from Zuid Station and 10 minutes from the Amsterdamse Bos (Amsterdam Forest).

The room is quite small, but it has a double bed and a wardrobe. The rest of the apartment is spacious, with a huge living room divided into two parts.

I'm looking for someone who isn't home all the time or away from home often. This is mainly because I like to have the house to myself and appreciate peace and quiet. I'm a writer/researcher and also a coach, and I work from home, and sometimes I even host my coaching clients at home. It's ideal if you work or study outside the home during the day.

I really love people and want someone who is open and sociable and who can easily talk about their own emotions and feelings. I value honesty and clarity. A good sense of humor is also very important! I enjoy being able to laugh and chat with a housemate ;)

At the same time, I appreciate peace and quiet. I'm recovering from a long illness and need some peace and quiet, especially on bad days. Especially during the day, as I'm a writer and work from home. You can also work in the living room, but I often need absolute silence to work. Sometimes I see coaching clients at home, and I would discuss those times with you. I don't have a television (although I do watch some on my laptop) and I like to read or do yoga in the evenings. So, I don't want someone who's a real party animal and always listens to loud music, plays video games, or wants to watch TV at home. When I'm watching things, I'm happy to wear headphones, and I appreciate it if others are willing to do the same.

I need a roommate who is independent: I usually like to cook and eat separately. Sometimes it's nice to eat together, but without pressure. I prefer not to share groceries (or groceries) because that has been difficult in the past—but I'm happy to share the cost of cleaning things for the house.

I'm also very tidy and am looking for someone who is careful with things, especially in the kitchen! I have a lot of nice things (knives and ceramics from Japan, for example) and want them to stay in good condition. I also like to cook and eat healthy. I'd prefer if you're not so fond of junk food and also enjoy cooking... and then washing dishes ;)

I'd like to chat before I schedule an appointment with you to view the apartment. If you come, I want us to decide if we like each other. And if we agree to you moving in, I'd like a "test period" of a few months so we can see if it works for both of us ;)

And one more thing: it's important that you're sex-positive. Being part of the queer-conscious sexuality community is a plus ;)
