Eerste Jan van der Heijdenstraat
About the place
Quiet room in a beautiful old apartment in De Pijp, located on the stunning Eerste Jan van der Heijdenstraat, right next to Sarphatipark. The room is 24m², high ceiling, minimal and has access to a large balcony. Outside, you’ll hear birds singing and can spot the famous green Amsterdam parakeets. Although it’s right in the heart of De Pijp, the room is very quiet. The room has a built-in closet, a chest of drawers, curtains, and a lamp. The bed and exercise bike in the photo will be removed (along with clothes and other personal items). The kitchen is equipped with basic appliances (fridge, washing machine), and you’re welcome to use the air fryer if cleaned properly. I prefer someone who is vegetarian or vegan, since frying meat will leave a strong scent in the house during the day. Smoking and parties are not allowed. It’s a quiet home, with some cleaning and noise rules from the homeowners association. You’ll be sharing the apartment with me – I’m 38, female, calm, and approachable. I work in social services, study, and enjoy reading. Due to a hip operation, I’ll be off work for a few months while I recover. That’s why I’m offering the back part of my apartment to someone looking for a temporary place. There’s a possibility to extend the stay to six months, and there may be an option to fully take over the apartment at a later time (which you could then share with a partner or friend for the full rent). Home exchange is also possible, preferably in the Haarlem or Hilversum area.
