About the place

My cat and I are looking for a kind and easygoing housemate to share our cozy home in Zaandam.
The room is about 11 m² in a charming old Dutch house on a small, friendly street that feels like a little village (think Zaanse Schans vibes). The house is in one of the nicest areas of Zaandam, only a 2-minute walk from the old Verkade factory - where you’ll find great bread, a gym, and lovely shops.
Supermarkets, doctors, and other amenities are all within walking distance, and the train takes you to Amsterdam in just 10 minutes.

The room itself is warm, and comfortable, with a hotel-quality bed and has a desk / home office. The rest of the house has character - some parts are still being refreshed - but everything works well and feels homely.

You’re welcome to use all shared spaces: the beautiful bathroom, the fully equipped kitchen, the living room, and of course the washing machine. The garden is a little wild at the moment (I’m working on it!) but it’s a lovely place to sit and enjoy the sun.

I love to cook and sometimes watch a movie in the evening - nice to share occasionally, but I also value quiet and privacy. I keep the house tidy but relaxed: clean, yet never obsessive.

I often work from home and travel occasionally for work, so it would be wonderful if you enjoy the company of cats and can lovingly feed and cuddle Dr. Cat when I’m away. He’s an affectionate ginger boy with a big heart and an even bigger purr.

Ideally, you have a steady income, are respectful, tidy, and enjoy both company and your own space. Non-smokers preferred (smoking outside in the garden is fine).
